How do you "beat" the game?

What do you need to do?
unlock all characters
ship all items
what else?

Technically, there is no way to 'beat' the game. Now, you can get 100% Island Growth.

First, you need all the character (faces or not).
Second, you need to ship and make everything.
Third, you must have everything unlocked.

I think the hardest thing would be all the characters, getting all the requirements to get them and all, but after that its pretty straightforward.

Now, when you get 100% Island Growth, I have no idea what happens. Though the credits are given out when you are married. Though I don't necessarily think that's when the game 'ends'.

You can't have 100% if you marry people other then Shea or the Witch Princess, bacause you can't unlock the rival children.

That's one of the great things about Harvest Moon games! Credits don't roll for good; you can keep playing. You can try to develop your island 100%, but Maze-la just said that you can't unlock all the rival's kids unless you marry Shea or the Witch Princess. Would Mark and Chelsea add to that as well since they don't have rivals?

In my opinion, once Im married and have a child thats atleast crawling, then Im pretty much done. But Im not much of an over-achiever.

There's no such way to beat the game. It's gameplay forever.
