By the way, if you, like me, are also pumpkin hunting late at night when most are taken, I have a tip. If you find an island with many unhelped pumpkins, instead of traveling via their bookmarks (which as DAC pointed out during the sunflower event tends to be fastest), travel via map and check out high level islands around them. I noticed the islands that have unhelped pumpkins later during the day/night tend to be in groups.
Another tip: Have other objectives besides pumpkins, so that when you get to the 70th farm in a row with 100% clicked pumpkins, you can just click their tomatoes or whatever instead of throwing your computer across the room. :\

Agreed. :D I keep hunting apples since I need candy apples for the super pumpkins.
I think it's similar with Toy Poodle and French Bull, you can get both normal and high rank Collection Item from them.
Until now I just got Golden Eggs (it's from 1st and 2nd Rank Chicken, not the Silkie) and Fin (yes, the first of new Collection Item drop from Penguin). Other type of penguin is kinda rare so I can't get any Collection Item yet, but I think the Emperor Penguin will drop the second Collection Item (and maybe with another old Item too).
Also have you guys noticed there seem to be several farms where the players wrote out "FIN" with crates/bushes, but they still are playing? I've run into it two or three times now, and it seems really weird. I mean I assume they mean the French word for "end" and not like, a fish's fin (which would make no sense at all).
It just seems like if you stopped then resumed playing, why don't you take down the sign saying you left?
It's also mean "finished", since it's long word so maybe hard to write on farm. They might finish some of their task (like collect enough pumpkin they need, have enough animal, finish all Quests...). Or just simple that they finish to write the "FIN" word.
Haha well said. Also is there some later quest where you need a lot of player messages? Both me and my friend got a letter from quiche just saying "Please read a player message". Is this something other than the letters...?
Edit: nevermind. He meant the message on his farm. He doesn't want random people to help his farm. Good luck with that...

I had something similar the other day, someone sent me a message saying "don't help my animals anymore. never come to my farm again." o.o
Well, I got some message from Japanese players too, though I try to put in Google but it's totally mess. I try to ask them write in English but not all of them care about that.
About quiche I got same message too, he ask me read his message but he doesn't even read my message (by Japanese) that ask people PM me by English. I try to translate his farm message though but it make messing meaning again. Well, if he doesn't care to explain it why I must care what he's saying?
I guess some people with many Min-Box animal dislike random people help their Min-Box animal, darn, I used to think all Japanese people is nice and friendly but now I changed my mind already. There are people always help my Rank 3 Animals but I never think about ask them stop.
I'm trying my best to get Rank 3 Animals so they can help them, but it's too hard and I got failed many times already, lose a bunch of animals and those people just can't understand it.
By the way, I'll continue click the Emperor Penguin in quiche farm until I got one Collection Item from it (hope he not get mad about it), after that I'll help his Rank 1 Animal for a while for excuse (though he never help me back for a long time already).

I wouldn't worry about offending quiche, DAC. I think he is very rude to ask it of us. The entire point of a game is to help others farms. It's what you do. And if we don't, tons of others will anyway. Plus you are right; he tells you to read his farm message but doesn't read yours.
My friend says she will keep helping his farm now out of spite since she got the message.
I really wanted to get 450 cookies but I'm only at 330 now. I don't think I can make it. Oh well. I don't know if I think a witch cat or pig is cuter...
I apologize if this offends anyone, but I would like to pass on things I've read and some of my own experiences as a way to explain the "Don't help my farm" messages some of you may have gotten.
I read the message in quiche's profile, and he doesn't actually say "Don't help my farm." He (she?) actually just asks that "random people" wait until after 6 a.m. Japan time to do so. He says that he wants to give First Priority to his friends, people from his bookmarks, and people from his circle group. He also says that there are loading problems (screen freezes) because he gets so many visitors at 5 a.m. (and he has an old computer).
And sorry, no offense, but I think it's a little bit unreasonable to expect a Japanese person playing the game to write in English, when the game is in Japanese only.
Technically, according to the rules, you're supposed to be a resident of Japan (live in Japan) to even qualify for a MooG games account, too. (On the みんなで牧場物語 webpage, it's listed under Article 3 (第３条) in the 利用規格 (Usage agreement) at the bottom of the page. 「3. 会員資格は、日本国内に在住する者のみに与えられるものとします。」 So, technically, this game is for Japanese people and other residents of Japan, at least through MooG.)
I think the reason why people get angry/upset/stressed out is because some people only help Rank 3 animals. They stake out a farm and visit right after the reset time. So, no one else, like their friends, gets a chance to click on the rare animal. I mean, I can understand why it might be stressful. It used to get stressful for me, too, sometimes. I have a few Rank 3 animals, some I got through the MinBox, some I got using the rainbow candy, and some I got through trades. The trade ones I spent A LOT of time getting—usually raised rank 2 animals up to level 10, which took weeks and weeks. I'd like to give friends, etc. a chance.
Another thing is usually the ones who ONLY help Rank 3 and other rare animals do not have ANY Rank 3 or rare animals of their own. They might not have any Rank 2 animals, either. So, basically, they're just using everyone else's Rank 3 animals and not caring. (I'm not addressing this to anyone on this site. So, please don't take offense. I'm just repeating things I've read on Japanese message boards) I don't think people would care so much if the other person seems to be making an effort to get their own animals. Or if they help other stuff, not just rare stuff.

Take this example. Say, you spend hours and hours and hours baking a really special cake. You're so happy when you finish your first one that you call all your friends and invite them to try the cake. But a bunch of random people also show up to try it. They cut in line and eat up all the cake, before your friends get a chance. The first couple of times, it might not bother you. But if it kept happening over and over, for weeks on end? It might get pretty stressful after a while, so much that you might just give up on making the cake. (Or delete/put away/hide your rare animals, in the case of the game…)
Some people don't get angry at all. But some people want to give their friends/bookmarked people a chance (at least at first). I think it's just kind of an etiquette thing. You can ignore such messages, of course. That's up to you. But I think it's nice to try to respect other people, too.
Just my opinion, anyway (probably not a very popular one, but anyway).
Oh, I'm not angry at him at all. I just think that no matter what, it's going to happen. Even if he sends requests. I was more irked that he sent me a PM without telling me what it was, just a vague message to check another message, which confused me. It's not that I think he's mean. I just find it strange.
I'm also confused because I thought I only went to quiche's farm before 6am once or maybe twice, but I've gotten two PMs. Maybe one was him clarifying...? I mean he did phrase it differently so.
HOWEVER, I made a mistake in my posts here, so I need to apologize to everyone (quiche included if he happened to read this). I had gotten several similar messages from players, and one DID say "don't come to my farm" in Japanese, and I thought that was quiche's. But it was not. Since quiche has sent a somewhat similar message in PM ("don't come to my farm before 6am please") I got them mixed up. Sorry for the confusion!
