Tips for raising marks friendship faster

I give him a gift and talk to him every day. What else can I do?
For winning festivals, will his heart get raised only when he is at that festival and i win or is it for any festival?

I think showing him your dog might help . He will like you more for just participating in festivals, but will like you even better if you win. But there really isn't much you can do. Mark takes a long time to befriend.

You could also find orchalic in the mines and build a friendship ring/ heart pendant and equipe it while talking to him(twice every day) and it will help raise his affection faster.
