Anyways, I got this account JUST to ask this question. :$ I've been playing Harvest Moon for a while. Yes, I got my Rice Paddy a little late but now I need some help on it.
First of all, what's the usual amount of rice seeds I should buy?
Second, how do I power up my hoe?
This question startled me. Uhm. Do I buy a new one? Some sort of Wonderful?
Any help will be appreciated. :)

Oh, p.s. Harvest Moon Island of Happiness is one heck of a game.

I think the rice paddies can accommodate around nine bags of seeds, but I'm not one hundred per cent sure.

By holding your stylus on the circle where it's equipped until it (the Hoe, not the circle) starts glowing. You can also hold down either the directional button or four-key-pad button (I don't know the actual term for it) corresponding to the correct circle if you want. For example, if your Hoe is in the top circle, you can charge it by holding down either up or the X button. It usually only takes about a second for the tool to charge.

You upgrade the Hoe by having Charlie add Wonderfuls to it. For plowing the Rice Paddies, you need a Yellow one. You'll also need a Yellow Wonderful on your sickle to harvest the rice. If you only have one, you can still get Charlie to remove the Wonderful from your Hammer and transfer it to your Hoe, and later to your Sickle. If you don't have enough Wonderful spaces to add the Yellow one, you can buy a new Hoe from Gannon.

Please note that it takes three seasons for Rice to grow, so you can only plant it in Spring.

Awwwh, thank you. This surely helped. I'm getting back to that game as soon as possible. Oh, and thanks for taking your time for this. (:
