What's the big deal?

You mean Masked Man?

Well Masked Man is the main villain throughout the game. He shows up I think after you beat the boss of dungeons. And he was pretty much the coolest character in the game. You know, until you find out what's under the mask . But it was pretty obvious from the start and it was wishful thinking that it wouldn't end up that way .

Exactly. It's not a surprise, just a disappointment.

You were able to hope that wasn't the case, because really that's a pretty obvious direction to take. But in the end that's how it is.

Why did you expect it? Was it made that obvious?

I personally still hoped it would be something else.

I don't know. I just am good with predicting plots... (probably with my over exposure to tvtropes.org XD)

But it could be possible that he had her body somewhere. Kinda like a Zelda-esque type of thing.
As for the covered body thing, most villains are like that, aren't they? I don't remember seeing any villains that "bare all" if you know what I mean. Especially a masked villain.

Those theories were exactly what I used to make myself more confident in the idea it was someone else XD. For a long time I decided to believe it would be a new person. But in the end it didn't happen .

But if you have a variety of theories, and one of them happens to be right, you can't really say that it was totally predictable, could you?

But the one that turned out to be right was the most obvious. Not to mention the easiest to do. Which was another reason that pointed to that outcome.

It's not predictable but that doesn't mean it surprised people with the way things turned out XD.

Sometimes it pays to go into a game not knowing much I suppose. That way things that were meant to be a surprise, stay that way. xD

True that. This is the first RF game I've followed so closely. All the others still had most of the surprises intact. Although quite a few RF3 things were spoiled by this forum as well. I just happened to join shortly before RFO was announced and couldn't resits keeping up with everything since the beginning.

I get into debates (where I'm really the only one debating) a lot here. I hope I don't come off as pushy .

Haha but then you wouldn't know they were making it and you wouldn't have time to build up excitement! I'm still fairly clueless when it comes to RFO because that board just zoomed way too fast for me to keep up. >-<
