I have used Short swords in RFF and RF1-3. I plan to try the dual swords in 3, though, and if I like them, I will replace the short sword with them.

dual. i became very attached to them after ToS and any game that allows me to use them is totally awesome.

some of the latter in RF3 are very, very cool.

In Frontier i'm using a magic staff.
I started RF3 with dual swords because i love agile fighting, but i think i'm going over to magic staffs again. The charge attacks are raep-tier.

I usually go with one handed blades or dual blades for the crazy fast DPS and not letting enemies regain their footing. It is cheap in more ways than one, but you won't hear me complaining.
