I use dual swords, mostly because I have this thing for two weapon fighting.

I'm partial to spears myself. I like using a weapon that uses a bit of skill to use properly. And spears are cool. >3>

I use the dual swords. I want to use the spears/axes/hammers but they only get forward...I want to swing around.

In the first three RF games I would use short swords (one-handed swords is what I'm talking about I just call them short swords) and shields. In RF3 I changed it up and tried Duel Swords.
They are cool but sometimes I miss using short swords.

Two-handed swords (specifically katanas, because katanas are cool) in every game but RF1, where I use the only usable weapon, the short sword.

In RF2, I used s. swords since that was the typical choice, but I only played through it once. If I did it again, I'd use spears for my boy.
In RF3, I swicthed to axes for the hell of it, and because I liked the idea of a scrawny lumberjack Micah hacking things. And they are just awesome, since once you learn the run combo, you start off doing a big swing that decimates everything around you. From what I've seen, axes(and hammers I guess) are great for multi enemy combat.

Dual Swords, for the games without duel swords then short swords.

I prefer long swords in just about every game I play. I like the heavy damage and wide range two-handers have. But I started again with dual swords.. Yeah those are pretty freakin' fun. ^_^

Well, in RF3, I use ALL weapons, I always have a S-Sword, L-Sword, Axe, Hammer, Dual Blades, and Staves (2 different types) in my inventory, (and Spell books too)
But the most used weapons for me is the Staff, I use it with Spell Books, and if you know how to upgrade the staves then their charge attack will be very, very, Very strong. But certain bosses you have to use melee weapons like Death Wall, so I use Dual Blades then (since S-Sword's Knock Back doesn't work on bosses at all and it doesn't deal much damage etc...)
If you use Staves the right way then it would deal a lot of damage at once xD

In RF3, I use Short Swords and Shield, since the shield can be upgraded too to increase attack. Spear and any other weapon except Farm tools and Dual Sword can also equip shield but the shield stats is halved

Later on I use magic and 1 thing I can say, Magic in RF3 is rules all mobs
makes the game too easy, then I use Dual Swords because the combo seems cool

I use the short sword in all of the games. I tried dual but I didn't like it much so one hand swords for me!

I always use the shortswords because they are damn fast. I was trying to fight with long sword, but it didn't work well. I think, they should be faster.

I used the longsword in RF2, and it was fine because that was the best type of sword for me at the time. (Killing something in two blows was deliciously awesome) But in RF2, you didn't really have skills like you did in RF3, so it got kind of boring.
In RF3 I started with a longsword because I thought Dual Blades would be kind of weak, but then I couldn't beat Death Wall with any longsword I used. So I started using Duel Blades when I leveled for a rematch with him, and I never looked back.
I never used shortswords, spears or staves. I used to use hammers and axes occasionally, I don't really anymore though.
