The big bad has taken her and you need to speak to the villagers of the town. Carmen should tell you she last saw her at hte island in the lake. So get your lotus rider out and go there. Then you have to speak to Wells, Marjorie and then Ondorus I believe...

Talk to everyone iin town and they will lead you to where she is with their speech. Then you have to find certain people in order to get in.

That's tedious. I talked to Carlos, then cameron, then went to the beach. Bam. But you can't open it. So talk to Wells, then Marjorie, then Ondorus, then go back to beach.
You don't need to talk to everyone in town. Everyone but Carlos and Cameron can see them.

Don't forget, you'll need magic water shoes or the lillypad monster to reach the ruins. Excellent choice in wife, though LOL!
