i just bought this game and im new to it.

does anyone have tips to get quick money and to marry ivan fast?

Well, you can't get married until the second year, so just give him gifts he likes. He likes fish.

Spend time jumping in the rivers after you finish your chores. Every once in a while you'll get lucky and find gold.

He also likes herbs (mint, chamomile, lavender). Some flowers too. I got him up to full hearts without even trying.

Yup. Just talk to him, give him gifts, and view his heart events as they become available. You should be able to get married early on in year 2 without a problem.

yeah and the camomille isnt hard to find either. but what about once spring ends?

Then just give him Mint or Lavender. There is an herb every season, besides Winter. But you might be able to find herbs in snow balls. Maybe I can't remember. You can to get him to a Red Heart way before year two even starts. So you don't really have to worry that much .

Getting money isn't that hard. I'm in winter of year 2 and I've got over 500,000G. Jump in the rivers when you're done work for the day to get gold/ore stones. Grow plenty of crops (water 2x a day for faster growth). Get some animals when you have some extra cash. Make sure to budget your money for the week. Before you know it you'll have more money than you know what to do with.

alright thankss. ive only played like the gameboy harvest moons, rune factory, hmds, and its a wonderful life. soo this ones a little different for me. haha.

dumb question though, how do i jump in the rivers hahah

Everyone is new sometime. It's alright to ask questions.

Just get close to the river and press A to jump. Press A again to double jump. And then make sure you fall over the river and not back unto land. Then you'll splash in the water and appear back on shore. Make sure you watch your stamina or you might drown . Not really. But you do lose stamina so your character can pass out if you do it too many times.
