I still don't understand her relation to the Harvest Goddess. Emiko dedicated her life to just guarding a water shrine and she has nothing to do with plants. And it's not like the HG is the only character that has magic in HM. Dirk came back in TT so if they were planning on using Emiko again they probably would have used her in that game too. There is nothing wrong but with coming up with time lines. I just like debating.
Like i said, it's all purely speculation. Also, just because she didn't appear in TT doesn't mean she won't reappear later. The original Ann from the snes Harvest Moon, makes a reappearance more than a decade later in MM. Who knows, maybe she'll pop up as a weird old woman in a later game that goes on about spiritual stuff without end. Oh, and maybe she'll be fat too
I like the whole Jamie Idea (that HG is his mom) It would explain why he is so determined to save her and why he can see/talk to he AND looks a little like her. as for Emiko I can and Cant see how she could be the HG. I can because she lives around water and is sum what mystical and such. I cant because the personality and because she doesn't actually LIVE in the water and she a little bit of a downer to be a real HG.....
As for why special characters don't ever get married...i believe its because 1) they always claim they can't move away from they live. 2) There probably to lazy to try to court someone else they like that someone else to do all of the work in the relationship(lazy special people) and 3) haven't you noticed that ether really shy, to busy doing other things, live in a hard to get to place, or don't typically want to be bothered with and I am speaking about all HM games where there is SC to love....like Sky from HMDSC is to busy with other things or The Harvest King is living in a hard to get to place.....well this is just my opinion anyway :D
As far as the Jamie thing i'm told it was hinted at more in the japanese version than the english release, but since i'm limited in my japanese reading, I can't tell for sure.
With Emiko she may be the HG or she may not but i have no doubt she has some connection to her.
Special characters always have reasons they can't be married. Some are better than others.
Though personally I ship Vaughn and Will, and Denny and Shea, so what do i know?
