Pia... Ditzy or dumb? (or perhaps a little of both.)

What are your thoughts on Pia's intelligence? My first impression after meeting her, was that she was silly and her own little sayings were cool. "Awesome-sauce" "Absol-duh-outely" or whatever, but after a while playing, I got the impression that she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. As I continued playing the game further, I noticed a few moments of genuine intelligence from her. Like the explanation of rainbows and waterfalls during your date. (Daria probably taught her.) I also know that she originally lived in the sea as a mermaid, so I try not to set her standards as high as I do the others. Perhaps mermaids have their own language and she's still learning ours and I doubt they have books and schools underwater.

What are your thoughts?

PS Am I the only one who thinks her mermaid character animation is a bit strange/gross? It looks like she's humping something or trying to slither up a flight of stairs.

PSS One more thing... Pia looks a little like Milotic.

I think she's smart, she's just a Cloudcukoolander. Though sometimes I get the impression the ditzyness is an act she puts on for the benefit of those around her. She likes to make people happy, and it's hard not to smile when she's being completely random and silly.

I sense no actual stupidtiy. I think she just... Doesn't always get "land" culture. :/

Her mermaid animation always looked like she was hopping around or in place. xD

Pia's not Dumb, she's actually pretty smart.

I always thought it was that she was overjoyed to be with civilization. I got the impression by how she talked in her requests in stuff, that she's the only mermaid in the RF world, or at least that Pia didn't know any other Mermaids. She kept talking about how the fish were her only friends. I think Mermaids are naturally intelligent (I mean, when she first talked to Sakuya, she already knew human language.) but she acts ditzy because she's just, happy now. And has friends, and just want to express it you know? Sorry, that was weird post but Pia is my favorite character so I put a lot of thought into this.

I think she's just ditzy. I definitely don't think she's dumb. Even thought I normally dislike people like that, she's one of my favorite characters.

I dunno, I don't think you're giving Pia enough credit here. Daria seems like a character who sees "rainbow" as a color or collection of colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), but may not necessarily know all of the scientific details of it. Pia, being a mermaid, would have lived underwater for most of her young life and would probably see rainbows often and would be told about them.

So I think Pia just knew that information already before coming to Sharance.

I also see Pia as just being a little ignorant of Sharance. Being a mermaid, she would have grown up in the water, known mermaid language and mermaid customs, not human customs. Much like how a country person would be ignorant of what happens in the city and be a little awkward and unknowing of what's happening in the city. She deals with it as much as she can, but ultimately is unsure and herself.

Yeah neither ditzy nor dumb. Just Pia.

i havta to agree with the other's here. she's a ditz, but if she had fins for most of her live, can you blame her for falling sometimes?
