Im just asking a random question, you know when you blow to the windmills to its max and it makes that noise? Well, i threw an eggplant into the storage basket and it made that same noise and above it it said "good." Is this a glitch or is this supposed to happen when you throw it in perfectly?
Another question, do you gain anything from feeding the horse after it has full hearts and full stars?
Last question on this post, i promise. My cat and one of my dogs disappeared and i cant find them anywhere in the farm. This happened right after the basket thingy. Does this have any relation at all? Even if i leave the farm, i cant find them. Did they like....die?

Well, whenever you throw something into the storage basket perfectly, not only do you get the 'good', you also regain some stamina. I think you can only do it once, and it is NOT a glitch.
I'm guessing that if you stop feeding the horse, it's affection level may go down, but I'm not too sure.
The basket and your pets have no relation. Probably. Unless your game has an unique glitch. Try looking in the barn, in your kitchen, in your living room, the back field, every field, the area left of the windmill. If your pet is a cat, maybe it's on the roof. As you know, your pet does not wander off of your farm and cannot be taken off your farm. So, I don't think it died, unless it got sick from lack of food and you didn't feed it or give it medicine.
