No they are two different people. Sonia's mind is just stuck in Azel's body until you find her missing body. They can't be the same person because they can marry each other

I find Noire to be more appealing than Blanche, actually. Her past and gloomy story made me loved her more than Blanche. She's just too bland compared to Noire.

Sonia is an MC. So she doesn't really count for me. Also Odette does the traditional things of the main RF girl. While Sonia just hangs around doing nothing until you beat the whole game. So I still consider Odette as the main girl. And Sonia and Azel as like Aaron/Aria.

Ummm... just to point out, michelle ruff voices BOTH of the Iris's she just uses a different voice for each of them.... she also voices Rukia from bleach, Yuki from Haruhi Suzumiya, and Tsukasa from Lucky Star....

They are the same person who only split out of sheer loneliness. After they move to town and you finish wooing them, they aren't lonely anymore. So they merge back together and are one person. You get to pick the Iris that stays. Nothing changed with the one that stays it's just that the other one is gone forever.
She's not dead. She just reforms into one person again. It's sad, but that's how it should be. Iris should not be split into two parts. I would be sad if I had a second part and she went away though .
Even though I agree, it just seems really awkward and... not right (I guess?) that one of them just VANISHES when they're gone, in my opinion. Maybe just because they're very yin/yang and it's weird to see only one without the other. I feel like they should have actually combined to make some sort of MEGA Iris hahaha. That would probably just look weird though.
I feel depressed when I think of Iris. I dunno why. Also, I think Mega Iris would have one's hair color and one's clothes. Then they'd just kinda have a combo personality.
