Catching the cicada on my house

I can never catch the cicada on the eaves of my house, whether I jump or double-jump. I can catch them on trees, and on windows, but when I try to catch this one, I mash the B button and nothing happens.

Try walking then jump,push forard and press B when your a lot close

yeah, slowly walk up and jump and grab it.

it's a tough one to catch.

Ohhh, wow. I hate that stupid cicada. I tried to nab it every single time I saw it, and didn't have any luck. x[ It's not you, so don't feel bad.

If you happen upon some kind of a trick to it, I think there are a few of us that would be uber-appreciative! It's driving me bonkers.
