Can you ever get anything out of ore stones besides junk metal and copper? Because thats all I've EVER gotten out of the tons of ore stones that I've cracked open...Does the chance of getting something better change with the year you are on maybe?

It depends. It's not base on years. In my year (year 2), i got some moonstone, silver, etc.

You can get any ore/gem from the ore stones I believe. I've gotten most of them anyway. Its random and I would guess some ores/gems are more rare than others. I usually get a pretty good stack of ore stones, to to bed with my hammer equipped (and save), and smash ore stones first thing in the AM. If I get good ones, I continue with my game. If I get junk, I reload.

thats a good idea. i never even thought of that.

i have another question then. is it ok to break 'em all at once? or does that mean you will get all of the same stone?

You can smash them all in one sitting. That's usually what I do. If my ratio of junk to good stuff is okay, then I just continue playing. You won't get the same stuff, 'cause its all random. Unless you're really unlucky and get all junk. That is always an option.

I've heard though, that if you drop them as a stack, and then smash them as a stack, they'll all be the same.

Yeah, if you drop them in a stack and smash them that way, they will be all the same, but it seems (at least in my experience) that it is far more likely to get a full stack of junk that way. So I usually just go ahead and smash them one at a time, and then like others were saying, if the ratio of good stuff to junk is high enough (I try for a little less than half good stuff - say 7 out of 15 ore stones are good) then I keep it, otherwise reload and try again.

Ah, I understand now. I was talking about throwing them and then smashing them. I totally forgot that you can just drop stuff. >.<

o okay that makes more sense. 'cause i was doing what u said and always got junk.... T^T

ive only gotten junk ores and copper too
its annoying... everytime i hope for something else but its almost always junk ore...

On the other hand... if you're really really patient, and get all gold ore... then yay.

i would « Puppy Doodoo » my pants and cry if i got a bunch of gold instead of junk ore!
