About Chen's seeds...

Sorry for starting a new thread for this...I searched the GB forum, and all of the threads I could really find were over a month old, and my last thread is almost at its 10-day limit, and the last post was by me, so...

I'm just wondering if someone can give me some clarification on how Chen sells his seeds? Ushi says that Chen will sell seeds at random based on season until year 4, and then after that will sell them weekly. Does this mean that once I reach year 4 (which is a looong ways away) that he'll alternate between his season-specific seeds at each bazaar? Or something else?

I'm almost to Fall of year 2, and I've never seen asparagus, pumpkin, or cauliflower (and Chen was in my game before Summer of year 1), as seems to be what a lot of people experienced in the old threads. I think he DID sell carrots, but I can't honestly remember.

I was also wondering, if I save and go to bed the night before a bazaar, wake up and head to the bazaar in the morning, can I see if he's selling something different than usual, and if not, reset my game? Or is it set in stone that I'll not see the other seeds until I either wifi with someone willing to sell or wait until year 4? Will this work once I DO reach year 4, to get the other seeds if he's not selling?

I can't tell you about the year 4 information (I'm not quite there yet either). He sells seeds randomly pretty much. I have tried reloading to get different seeds before and I'm pretty sure it works. I've never seen him sell Y. Pepper, but I've seen him sell everything else. So it really is random and it sounds like you've got bad luck.

i haven't had y. pepper yet either, but i am in winter year three... so we will see

Just got to year two and i've had carrot, y.pepper and cauliflower. So it seems pretty random.

Hmm...I've seen a bunch of different people on different forums saying that when year 4 bazaars start, the seeds all show up at one bazaar or another, per the season they grow in. I hope it's true, because I'm dieing for asparagus and cauliflower especially. D:

On the topic of saving and reloading if he doesn't have the proper seeds...Do I need to - if the bazaar is on Saturday - save on THURSDAY night and not save when going to bed on Friday, or is it viable to save on Friday? I'm just not sure when his shop stock is determined, so I'd hate to discover that saving on Friday night for a Saturday bazaar is entirely useless. XD

well, starting in year two i got both asparagus and cauliflower, but i also had my bazaar to 100% by the end of year two... so idk what exactly triggers what seeds to appear...

Well, I saved when going to bed on Friday, and I keep going back to the bazaar on Saturday morning. Chen's shop stock keeps changing, so I guess saving the night before the bazaar works...

If only he'd just carry the stupid cauliflower seeds. D: I'll just keep trying~ I hate the thought of doing this for asparagus and pumpkins as well though.

Yeah, I do have wifi, and I've been trying to find people who are willing to play via wifi with me, to no avail. :\

I really wish there was somebody out there willing to give me ONE of each crop seed. I don't even care if they're 1/2; I'd just like to start growing mass amount of them in my basement, just for kicks...But I'm kind of worried that when spring rolls around again, seeds Chen was ALREADY carrying will be missing. X[

I don't want to go posting ANOTHER thread here in the GB forum, but I've tried PMing people in the wifi thread and haven't gotten even a hint of a reply. Blah.

it might help to look at their last login date or most recent posts. that might give you a clue as to how responsive they might be. hope everything works out!

I can't help with the wifi unfortunately, but in the experience of myself and my sister...it seems that for the first three years Chen is missing one seed per season in every game - which seed is missing is random for each game as well. Both my sister and myself saw this in our games. Fortunately, our missing seeds were completely different, so we were able to trade the missing seeds to each other. ^_^ Otherwise, yeah, if you can't find anybody to trade with you, the missing seeds start showing up randomly in Year 4.

Also, to confirm what's already been said, the stock at the bazaar is determined when you enter the bazaar, so saving Friday night is fine.

It doesn't seem like anybody can help with wifi. xD Kinda sucks, to be honest~

It definitely seems like you're right about a seed being missing from each season for each game until year 4 - or at least being exceedingly rare. I've read a ton of threads saying that people are missing a bunch of different seeds, and some of them I have myself, so I know it's not definite which ones people won't see.

Thanks for confirming when the stock is set. :D Now I can reset for Wonderfuls without worry~
