Basically, I'm curious as to what upgrading your tools will do..

I know the watering can makes it have more squares...
Will upgrading the hammer make better things come out of ore stones?
I get up to 4 star fish with my never-been-upgraded short fishing rod...so, if it doesn't change the star quality, does it make you catch more expensive fish more often?

I'm just curious as to what upgrading will do...because I don't really see the point

just saw you can't upgrade the hammer, so scratch that
pretty much upgrading the other tools increases their range, so...
what does upgrading the fishing rod do?

Apparently, once you upgrade your fishing rods to 4+ stars, you can get 5 star fish, so I guess you can catch up to 4 star fish before that. As for catching rarer fish more often, maybe someone else can shine a better light on that.
