I could see that too, since I don't think the game would actually have you destroy the Sech people even if they are evil. This is getting more interesting by the minute.
To go into detail maybe with what happened with the Sech and the earth dragon, the wind dragon rejects its own nature for the purpose of self-preservation. When it see you a Sech with no memory it believe you to be ruthless enough to turn the kingdom into a country of war to protect it. But when it sees you making into a land of peace it goes mad from fear and believes it must start over, and does not want a fully realized former Sech to pose a new threat somewhere down the line.

And I love those screen shots. If anything no matter how it turns out in the end the game will at least look really flippin cool. And that's something.
