According to the plot on the front page, the dragon finds you and believing you have great potential appoints you as Selfia's ruler. As for the idea MC couples, the plot section also says the other MC is the one who tells you that you may be an Earthmate.

I agree. I personally never liked any of the main pairings because I never liked the girl's personality. This is why I liked RFF's opening the best because for the most part it showed off all the girls and didn't focus on one over the other. I would love if the opening for R4 was done like this but I won't hold my breath about it.

I actually think RF4 will show everyone equally. Maybe I'm being optimistic, but in the screens we have so far, we've seen two clear screenshots of Margaret and Bishnal that we can assume is from the opening. Now unless they're the chosen hero/heroine for this game, that's much better than the bacherlorettes in the DS games have gotten in the past. Like in RF3, they included all the girls in the second opening, but only for a split second, and you couldn't even get a good look at each girl's face. However, if the pattern continues and the other bachelor(ette)s in this game are also going to get at least one good shot of them in the opening, then I bet it'll be like RFF in the fact that it'll focus on everyone individually.

Wasn't it mentioned that when you meet a bachelorette or bachelor for the first time, there's a small animated cutscene a la Frontier? Although those particular screens do seem more suited for the opening. I'll be happy as long as it isn't like, say, the Rune Factory 2 opening. It was biased on Mana to a ridiculous level. And the Rune Factory opening was pretty biased on Mist too. I liked that the first opening of Rune Factory 3 had less focus on the girls and more focus on Micah. I haven't seen the second opening yet [], though I hear it makes it pretty clear that you were supposed to marry Shara, which is a bit sad. Is it as bad as the other two openings?

A shame that Frontier is the only game without a bias. I hope RF4's opening is more like Frontier's.

Didn't someone say that there are cut scenes for each of the characters?

Yes. Just like with Frontier when you meet a marriage candidate for the first time there will be a little animated scene. I'm really happy about that. I love the animated scenes X3

I say we can assume those are for the opening because both Bishnal and Margaret have had two different screens each (actually 3, but the third one is just focusing on their clothes). The first set ever revealed to us looks much like what the intro scenes would be, while the newly released set looks like it'll be in the opening. Now, unless the game focuses on both Bishnal and Margaret and leaves the other characters with only their intro scenes, I think it's safe to think that the opening will animate everyone for a second time. ^^ Heck, even Volkanon got in on the animation action. That surprised me a lot, cause I figured they'd want to save more animation for the candidates. But I thought he looked really cool, so I'm happy. Really though, I don't care too much about the opening. As long as each candidate is animated once for their intro, I'll be beyond satisfied. :D I had not expected they'd do that for a handheld game. I've never been more happy to be wrong~

Yeah, I did like Frontier's animation scenes. I would love to see them again. Maybe more often, I mean they did do some in the plot, but I would have liked them to be more common. They just fit so well. Which gives me a thought, an RF anime based on RF1. Not likely to happen, but it would still be awesome.

I do think Lest leans too far on the feminine side, but it's not like I hate him. As for manly men, maybe they'll toss in a few as bachelors for variety. I mean, you go from girly-cutesy whatever chicks to tomboys in most games, so why not have bachelors that range from effeminate to manly?

Haha yeah, guess manly has different "standards" here in America than on Asia.

I think the shots that showed Margaret and Vishnal individually are when you meet them. Like they scroll from bottom to top for you to get a good look. I hope not though... I'd like some random intro like RFF's. I really liked Selphy's... Lara's... Annette's... (everyone's...)

I thought Micah looked like a woman too, though. I started liking him a lot more when I actually played the game, so I won't make any decisions. xD
