Rune Factory Villain Concepts
Hello everyone, Osuchin here. Starting up what I hope to be a series of concept threads, done by either me or other members. Going over recent posts from the last few weeks I noticed many people with poor opinion for some of the villains of the RF series. So I decided to start off with what your ideas and opinions are on a Rune Factory antagonist. Please fell free to post and comment on others posts. Posts can be as simple as you want, these are your villains after all.

My Concept
I actually had an idea for two villains with quite a back story, Thoma and Aveline. One of them would be a marriage candidate depending on their players gender. Thoma if you’re a girl. Aveline if you’re a guy, like me.
Thoma
Appearance: Fairly young and handsome. He has silvery hair that reaches his shoulders and blue eyes. His attire is very regal. Blue and gold shirt and pants, and a green shoulder cape with gold embroidery, draped over his right arm. The only thin out of place is the scar over his right eye and the black gauntlet he wears on his left hand.

Personality: He is very calm and intelligent. Willing to wait and bide his time. However he is incredibly ambitious and is single-minded. While he does not get angry as often as his sister, when he does his rage makes hers look like a tantrum. He often does not like to do things himself and will often persuade or bribe others to do things for him.
Aveline
Appearance: She looks like her brother though much more feminine. Her hair however is crimson red worn as a long ponytail. She has no disfigurations or scaring.

Personality: Despite appearing very feminine, her personality matches her clothing. She is brash and impatient. She often gets angry as is quite the perfectionist both towards herself and others. She prefers doing things herself but has more then enough control to see a plan through.
Back Story
Spoiler:
During the initial invasion of Norad by the Sech Empire, when the two were children, Thoma and Aveline’s hometown was destroyed by the Sech tanks. Their friends and family massacred in the attack Thoma was left for dead and Aveline was abducted by the enemy. Thoma eventually recovered and was adopted into a wealth family, where he received excellent education. He wanted to learn how to fight but the injuries he sustained in the attack rendered him unable to effectively wield a weapon, so he turned to magic, which he excelled in and became very versed in the matters of manipulating others into doing things he was incapable of. Despite his good fortune and upbringing, deep down inside he burned for revenge against the Sech Empire with all his willpower, well over bordering on obsession. He would spend weeks formulating plans and trying, though unsuccessfully to convince the nobility to attack the Sech. His obsession boiling over he was even beginning to plot a coup against Norad to see his vengeance brought about.
The night of the attack Aveline was also abducted, though since she was a child she was not made a prisoner. She was instead adopted into the family of one of the Sech generals. For years she was trained in martial combat and the ways of war. But her time among her enemy did not bring understanding or forgiveness. In fact she hated them perhaps more then her long lost brother. One night she even attempted to kill her adoptive parents but was caught and imprisoned. Unable to handle her anti-Sech mentality or her rebelliousness she was eventually exiled and found her way into Norad where she came across her brother.
Their reunion however would not bring healing as they often encouraged each others hatred. Eventually however news reached them of an old legend from a neighboring kingdom of an ancient a powerful demon sealing by the guardian beasts of a small village. They went to the town hoping to gain the demons power despite their fears, but found the cave leading to the demon to be seal and unbreakable. They resolved that if they could not destroy the seal they would then destroy the creatures maintaining it. But as they fought their way to the first beast they learned that only an Earthmate could enter its lair, which neither of them were. For months they stayed in the town devising a way to reach the demon. Eventually they conceived a plan to turn the people of the town against their protectors. For centuries the people relied on the guardians for protection, from everything from invasion to harsh weather. Thoma however used his magic to curse the land. The plants grew slowly and sickly. The river and lake turned into a stream and puddle. Severe weather not only occurred but was now even more violent and apart from during storms, no wind blew. Eventually the people despaired and lost their love for the beasts seeing that their domains were still protected but could not go there for fear of the monsters, for either food or refuge.
Storyline
Spoiler:
The basic idea from there is that they would trick the player into killing the creatures, as they would be an Earthmate and therefore able to enter the guardians sanctuaries. One would act as a guide depending on your characters gender(Aveline if a boy, Thoma is a girl) advising you how to proceed and giving hints and occasional gifts to further yet task. The other would be gone most of the time, making preparations. They would come back from time to time to see their sibling, but would have very little contact with you or the villagers and could not be befriended.
As the player kills each beast one of the curses would be lifted by Thoma, causing things in the village to get better and some of the villagers who had left to return. Once all are dead though the two would reveal their true intentions, attacking you and leaving you for dead. Upon regaining consciousness you learn the first seal has been broken and Thoma and Aveline had entered only a few hours ago. The player would follow the two through the last plotline dungeon and eventually face the two just as they break the final seal. The one who is not a marriage candidate would then become possessed and depending on your relationship with the love interest they would either fight alongside the demon or run from the fight. Once the battle is over the possessed sibling would be dead along with the demon but the other would still be alive . You would then be given the option to either, reveal what they had down to the villages or leave them be. If turned in, soldiers would take them away never to be seen again. If left alone they would eventually return to their home in the village, the trauma of the event finally putting their demons to rest, no longer having the will to continue their revenge. From their they could be married, but if your relationship with them is too low they would blame your for their siblings death and often lash out at you, this would dissipate over time or as their affection towards you increased.
Alternate Ending
Spoiler:
On the defeat of the demon. The possessed sibling is freed but becomes so disturbed by their own actions they leave on a long journey. The other sibling is still mad at you for seperating them.
Anyway thanks for looking, sorry if it was a little darker then anticipated. Feel free to comment or post your own ideas. I may have more in the future if this is popular and I come up with some.

I was one of those people >.>

That is quite depressing. But I would certainly take those guys a lot more seriously then all those other villains. I like the idea of unwittingly working for the bad guy the whole time. Anyways I think those are some nice ideas. I don't have any myself though :?.

Spoiler:
No one ever dies in RF XD. It would be really unexpected if something like that ever happened.

Yeah your right about it being too dark I was simply trying to come up with a believable reasoning to them being evil. This was however done in a day and I really didn't get the chance to read it back to myself. I may go back and change it.

Well your idea is fine. There isn't really a reason to change it. It is good the way it is now

But if it was in an actual RF game I doubt the ending would end up like that .

For Thoma, is he "fairly" young or a fairy?
/evil fairy would be so awesome

I want a psychotic evil. As in, maybe he has a tragic past, but doesn't make up for all of the terrible things he has done/about to do. Also, obsessed with the protag and with no heel face turn storyline would be great.

I mean, yes everyone likes character development. But I want to see a REAL evil villain. Not someone who is just misunderstood/steered in the wrong direction.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake, I have fixed it. It was fairly.
Though the idea of a fairy antagonist, or at least a non-human one is a good idea. I might try it, if no one else does it first.

Same here, but this is RF we're talking about. There is never anything incredibly dark. So I don't think a psychopath will ever come around in this series.

I mean sure they were lame but those Sech guys from the first game were evil and stayed evil. Besides Lynette of course. But that old guy wasn't a misunderstood character.

Well as I said it was ment to be a back story. You probably wouldn't hear to much detail of it in game(as if my idea would ever be in a RF game). And your right earlier about killing off the villain it is too dark for RF.

Oh, darn. I have one, but I don't want to give the biggest spoiler in my whole fanfic. And I'm not old enough to join Fanfiction.net, so I won't be able to upload it there, where it'll actually be read. DDDDX

Ah, well. I'll just post this much about the villain:
Storyline
Spoiler:
The villain is first encountered when the party reaches the Fenith Archipelago in the Era of Disconnect. It has apparently stopped trying to accomplish its goal and has turned good. You can bond with it until a certain plot point.

Later, they find out that the villain destroyed Dragonia (Aden and Sonia's hometown) after the start of RFO in the disguise of a demon named "Gyozame." Yeah, I'm unoriginal with names :P. Anyway, they defeat it. But is it really done for? Of course not!

Even later, they find out about a place called the "Middleworld," a world between the worlds. The villain helps the party get there: they must obtain an amulet from the island that holds up the Fenith Archipelago. Once they get there, the villain shows up and causes the islands to fall to the ground, destroying the land below. Only James and Electra survived the cataclysm.

Once the party reaches the Middleworld, they find out that the villain has been spiriting people away to there. It makes demons possess those who can sing the Spirit Song, who in turn brainwash everyone else into slavery. Oh, and did we mention that the Middleworld is like Alaska/northern Canada? If people disobey orders, they are either thrown into the abyss or killed. And the orders are very strict. One error and it's down the pit with you!

When the party reaches the final battlefield above the abyss, the villain's main flunkies (the party's possessed parents) battle them. After they're down, the villain throws all their bodies down the abyss, much to the party's dismay. Afterwards, it tries to possess Leif, but Leona tugs him out of the way. The second phase of the fight is a cakewalk.

When that's over, the villain gets strength from a related one. After that phase is done, one of the party members throws the villain down the abyss to avenge their parents. I won't reveal what happens to everyone else after that.
:P Yeah, I made
Spoiler:
a complete monster.
To make up for it,
Spoiler:
there's no fourth wall.

Ha ha. You don't have to give away any spoilers. I only did so because Thoma and Aveline are not part of any project I am working on. They were just something I did for fun. You can make and post your villain however you want, so long as it doesn't break any Ushi rules.

By the way it sounds very interesting. Though very ambiguous. Is your villain a monster or just acts like one? Because it sounds like both. Anyway thanks for posting this.

I feel as though my first post may have been a little intimidating. But as stated you do not have to give away a back story or storyline if you do not want to. It can be a simple idea for a villain and does not have to be incredibly descriptive. Also feel free to post an evil scheme they might do if you can't think of a villain itself. That said with out further ado here Osuchin's villain concept #2

Rowanon
Appearance: An very muscular man who appears to be in his early 50s. At seven feet tall he has a very intimidating presence. He has short black hair, with grey highlights. Has a grizzled beard and mustache. He wears black full metal chest plate, gloves and boots. Attached to his armor are numerous war medals, which he proudly displays. He wears a red cape and has a golden pocket watch hanging from his belt to his right side. Underneath his armor that he has a dark purple shirt and dark grey pants. Sheathed at his side is a shining steel sword, with a hilt plated with gold, with a scabbard of tanned leather.
Image
Description: An experienced Sech general, he has been at the helm of several invasions, often leading his men into battle himself, though rarely from the front. He does not like to play politicking and saboteur tactics employed by other generals. While he views himself to be honorable he would gladly burn a village and has become infamous for doing so numerous times. He almost never will execute a prisoner, finding far more amusing to force them into labor camps, working to promote the Empire’s agendas. Due to being born and raised in a noble Sech family he has come in contact with many of the technologies that are unique only in the Empire. As such he views the neighboring countries as inferior and primitive often claiming that the people and especially non-humans as little more then beasts. His numerous victories and atrocities have caused him to become known as the Demon General, a title which he enjoys for the respect it gives him amongst his pears and the fear in his enemy.

A little..... peek!
Thoma!
Spoiler:
Image

This is a Work In Progress, meaning, Not finished!
Well he looks a bit too much like Prince Lest OTL Maybe the color will affect...? I dunno, probably because of the hair and the shoulder cape (even when it's now reduced to half...! the cape I mean)
... I don't really know OTL
Well but it's not his official design, I have to wait for agreement of Osu first. But uh,.. I'm ready to change the hair and cape design if I can...

Ehm... Rowanon is inspired by Volkanon right...? OTL

That awesome Lumi. He does look a little off from the image I had in my head, but yours looks much better. And don't be afraid to change a few things if you have to.

Y-yeah.. I thought since it's RF I think the style should be a bit same as the original, so I tried to draw big eyes xD.
And yeah I thought Thoma and Aveline are the main focused character so I made him look more like other main characters OTL
I think I'll add some more-evil looking and mature-looking to him? Or do you think it's fine as it is? o.o
