Why do people prefer girl babies over boy babies?

One thing I notice about this game is that a lot of people (especially the ones I know in real life) said that they would reset until they get the girl baby instead if the boy. That kind of irritates me. Personally, whichever baby you get needs to be loved and nurtured, whether its a boy or a girl. I know this is just an opinionated thing, but I feel like it's pretty true. Does anybody feel the way I do, or does anybody prefer one over the other?

Not I. I prefer a male mini-me over a girlchild. Regardless, either gender is too cutsey-wootsey for my liking.

i dont care which gender i have.
im just waiting for mine to be born and in the mean time, i was thinking of names for either gender

I usually prefer girls in my HM/RF games... I think mostly because the girl children usually look cuter (imo) in most of the games. I'm just weird like that

Besides that, I honestly don't know why I prefer girls in the game. Perhaps because I'm a girl as well?

Weirder thing is that if I were to ever have kids in real life (I don't like kids anyway, so I'd kind of prefer not having kids), I'd rather have boys than girls. I dunno.

Boy kid for me too. At least for a first born. If I can choose.

I mean, I'll take whatever gender if the game has some ridiculous pattern to determine your kid. Like in SI and IoH.

No, it's soft reset.

Personally, I disliked the boy sprite. Looked too much like Kevin, who I love dearly but I want a more original look. Plus, I just got a larger reservoir for girl names.

No, I mean for IoH/SI, baby's gender is set since marriage. For GB, just soft reset to get the gender of the child you want.

How can one resist the adorable little baby boy/child in A Wonderful Life. So cute.. Especially Celia's.

I've only ever had a girl I think once in a game and that was More Friends of Mineral Town.

I don't even like playing as the girl and I am a girl lol.

I like being able to see the boy court the girl in games.

I'm the same in other games, like the Sims. I like having boys because I get to make them pick the cute girls in town vs having the girls go after the boys.

I'm old fashioned

In A Wonderful Life, I think you can only have boys.

But I'm actually very shocked to see how many people prefer boy babies over girls! I'll love my baby like a real one, but if I could choose ... I'd probably want a son. In AP (Why I am talking about this game on a GB thread?) I'm letting Anissa choose which gender my babies are.

So yup. Are there any girl preferring mothers/fathers out there?

For me, I don't much care which gender the kid is, though I prefer that s/he looks at least sorta like one or the other parent, if I can manage it... which is actually kinda hard to do in some HM games...

Was I talking about GB? No, I was saying it to all the games in general. Maybe I wasn't specific on that :I

I prefer girls because they're so rare in my games. I've only had a girl once, on DS Cute.
