Can someone explain fertilizer to me better?

So I've been playing Grand Bazaar for a while and I never really used fertilizer before in other games for whatever reason. The main component of this site explains all I need to know about crops and trees and whatnot, but I've always had a question about fertilizer. (Bit of a long question XD)

Say I had Tree A(tea, cherry, olive, what have you) and I used the base seeds so it'd be .5 starts or 2 stars, I forgot. Say I wanted to use fertilizer on said tree. I buy the .5 star one from Raul's shop and use that. Will that raise the tree's fruit by .5 stars everyday I use it? Or is there some hidden formula the game uses? Say I use a mixture of .5 and 2 star fertilizer or whatever mix. Does that raise the tree's fruit by that many stars?

Also if I use fertilizer on a tree or crop everyday until it produces it's crops and everyday in between the crops are regrowing, does that also raise the product's star rating? Or does fertilizer stop raising it's ranks after it's first production?

Those were the two questions(I know I said I had one, I lied :) that I've always wondered and it kinda bothered me when I grew crops and stuff. I just want to know how the mechanics of fertilizer affecting star rating goes.

Thank you in advance!!!!

If you use it on a full grown tree, it just ups the number of fruit produced. Use it on still-growing crops. Its best of single grow crops; use the fertilzer on them and the make new seeds with the full grown crops to make higher level seeds.

Actually...

For trees - fertilizer works on them, but not as fast as you mentioned. Let's say you use Raul's .5-star fertilizer every single day from when you planted the tree until it's full-grown (except for winter - I'm about 80 percent sure fertilizer doesn't do any good in winter). By the time the tree has its first crop, the produce will probably be around 3.5 to 4 stars. Mixing in some homemade higher-star fertilizer might get you a bit higher, depending on how often you're able to use it.

Once the tree is full grown you can still use fertilizer to raise the star level inbetween harvests. It is very slow progress, but eventually you most definitely can increase the star level up to 5.

And yes, fertilizer does impact the number of fruits you get per harvest off of trees just like lemo_the_lemon said, so even after the tree has reached 5 stars, you will still probably want to use fertilizer at least a couple of times in between each harvest.

For crops, you will see the most visible and fastest improvement in single-harvest crops, but until you have the grinding windmill to make your own seeds, it's probably not worth it to fertilize them more than once. After you're making your own seeds, though, fertilizing them every day will get you closer to the 5-star level the fastest. With the quicker-growing crops and making your own seeds, you can get a crop from .5 stars to nearly 5 stars in one season.

With multi-harvest crops, yes you can still fertilize and get some minor improvement even after the initial harvest. Again, though, it's not really worth it to fertilize more than a couple of times until you are making your own seeds. And multi-harvest crops are slower to gain stars overall, so expect it to take at least two seasons before they reach 5-star status once you start grinding your own seeds.

Hopefully that helped somewhat...

Ok, that helped immensely. I just wasn't too sure on how fertilizer really worked and there really isn't a guide for what I was looking for. Maybe I should make one? Thank you for the info, I was trying to make sure I wasn't wasting fertilizer on crops or trees.

I already knew that when you use fertilizer on a blooming tree that it increases the drops to 3, but I wasn't sure if using it in between harvests if it would raise it.

Thanks again!
