i dont choose a certain stereotype, really. i go for the cutest boy/girl i find, the one i share interests with. sounds silly since we don't really need interests in common to be with a boy/girl that really doesn't exists, but i find this nice. whats the point of marrying someone if our interests are so different? however, this is only MY point of view..

I usually go for someone's who's like my significant other, while she does the same whenever we play video games like this.

Not really, no. I just go for, whom seems to be the most interesting and handsome to me.

I usually go for the smart guy. Although, sometimes I go for the smartass.

I've married the "doctor" character in most games on at least one file. I also like the rude, sarcastic guys too such as Chase.

I usually don't marry the "I-am-obsessed-with-fishing" types or the "I-cut-my-wrist-daily" ones.

For girls, once again, I marry the smart girl or quiet type such as Maria or Keria. I love the brainy villagers. I also like the girls who are a little bit feisty like Flora or Ann.

It's not against the rules, but it's rather rude to say things like this... Somebody might be struggling with this problem and take offence to it...

I'm not trying to be mean either, I'm just saying...

I usually go for the one that's totally out there.
Haven't married the Kappa yet, but I've married the phantom thief, the native(x2), the prince, the oddly depressed outsider, a wizard, and a narssicist. (if you didn't get those, Skye, Shea, Amir, Cliff, Ga** (from AP), and Gill) :3

When I play as a boy... usually I go for the cutest graphic design/personality. in SI I went for Lanna since she was pretty awesome. Julia reminded me a lot of Cathy from ToT/AP but I like Cathy and I dislike Julia... eh. Tsundere is somewhat overplayed, but that character choice comes second.

Well I wasn't trying to be offensive. It's not like I was directing the statement at anyone in particular (besides fictional characters) anyway. I think you're taking it too seriously.

I usually try for the like, funny ones, or goofy or something only cause i cant stand the "Meh, my life sucks, i hate everybody" type characters. And also the sarcastic ones purely cause i'm extremely sarcastic myself, for example, Chase is a good sarcastic bachelor. And they also have to have a good design of course.

I dont really like the serious characters either, i'm not a fan of any of the doctors (But i did marry one on my second file of MFoMT, just cause all of the the other ones beside gray suck) the smart characters often get on my nerves as well. And they have to have a actual personality, not into the "Piece of cardboard" personality. I dont tend to go for the obvious easy ones either.

Wow...When I'm a guy I tend to like the rich girls or the quiet ones, mostly because I like to do the over-protective-male thing. (odd... ^_^')
When I play as a female I typically pick the characters with extreme passions for what they do. I marry alot of carpenters (Luke, Kurt) or even the reserved ones who have hidden ambition. O_o" I'n not sure haha, it differs greatly to be honest. I have a hard time really hating people except Gotz... :shifty:

I generally go for the stereotypically mysterious/misunderstood yet sweet (after a certain period of time) character.

Unless I find other aspects of him undesirable. In which case I generally shift to one who would seem most like the male me xD

Edit: ^ Also, I didn't realize that this was a previously dead topic, I apologize for continuing XD

I never go for a certain stereotype. I just go for the character that appeals to me most. 'Stereotypes' by themselves don't appeal to me so I look for other aspects of a character. I know I like the shy girl stereotype but it's not necessarily my favorite. :/

I don't really like any of the Popuri's that much or girls similar to her like Nina and Lyla. I also don't really like any of the doctors that much.

My favorites from the games are as follows:

Snes: Maria
64: Elli (And Ann!)/ Cliff
BTN/FOMT: I don't even know. None of the girls were that interesting. Rick
STH: Dia/Kurt
MM: Bob/Louis
AWL: Nami
ToT: Candace/Luke
