I personally never used that trick and i never needed it. Since it is a rather slow game, why bother making too much profit that fast? well, then again, there's all kinds of people...

IMO, a slow game is the perfect reason to speed up your income rate. It is an opportunity in the game that is perfectly legal, despite being generally called a "trick" by everyone (including myself). I'd rather not waste the time since there are so many other things to wait around for (i.e. the bazaar to sell the right items you need, your crops to grow, heart points to raise, scenes to unlock, etc, etc...). The game doesn't end just because you have a surplus of money, and even though I've abused this grass seed loophole quite a bit, I still think there is reason enough to play into year 3 and beyond. So with all that said, that is why I and many others bother to make mad amounts of bank. $$$
