What's your favorite weapon and why? [RF3]

I'm on the dual swords bandwagon, for RF3 at least, I'm afraid. ^_^ It really is the speed, for me. Short swords are a near-second place.

I just dislike how long it takes to swing the longswords, axes, and hammers, the narrow target range of the spears, and the general combat-uselessness of the staffs/wands (Useless for me. I just don't like using magic to fight. Healing and teleportation magic only, that's me.) I like to just run right into the pack of monsters and slash them to ribbons in seconds before they even know I'm there. ^_^ If there were such a thing, I'd say my class is paladin-rogue.

And, you know, you actually DO get some help from your shield, even with dual swords. Its help is cut to about half what it would be if you use short swords, but it's still there.

And you can just as easily forge defensive upgrades to your weapon (of any type) too, if you want even more defense.

haha looks like I'm part of the crowd as well.
I like the dual blades jsut because they're really fast, but the defensive area of using dual blades always worries me a bit haha.
I think I might try my hand at a short sword since I could use a shield with that too :D

Vote for dual sword and shortsword..!! XD
my first save file used shortsword, and progressed very well. good for beginner.
my second one, i used dual sword and it's highly amazing.. tough saying that, it has a bit backdown of defence. for grinding lvl, it's a bit harder than shortsword, but for later, the monster consist of magic attack, so shield is not as important unless it's magic-type shield.

... i take all that back! I vote for brawl!!! it's fun to see a cute sheep humilate dragons

I like dual swords. They're fast and very useful. ^^
Some weapons are useful too. Right now, i like to use longswords because they are very easy to use in this game. There is an improvement of it than the previous RF games as i notice.

I like spears because of the extra reach, good overall stats, and fast attack.

um.. i think so..? spells hurt anyway, and it's described that staves is "not really meant to be a weapon itself", which means it's a booster only, and the weapon is spellbooks itself

It depends on what is available to me at the time. I typically use whatever is fast and what has a good amount of attack power.

I like weapons that do a lot of damage. The hammer was the first RF weapon that I used and used for most of the game. When I tried using swords/other it just didn't feel the same so I stuck with the Hammer.

I usually use a shortsword or dual blades.I usually don't use a longsword unless it's beneficial (ie.a flamesword is a longsword).I've tried spears,axes and hammers but they aren't very good weapons for close combat.

Dual blades if i feel like flying. I think my fave are both the hammer and dual blades. i love squishing things

One handed swords. I got used to them in RF1 and RF2 to make the switch in RF3. My favorite specifically is the luck blade <3 I have used it to beat the final boss in all 3 RFs. It is just my favorite weapon of all time.
