How are you liking it?
Honestly I dont like it that much. I'm planning to play until 31st Spring and see how it goes. I dont like the graphics, I cannot believe that the game play (like bug catching, finding items in the water by drowning yourself..) are so much like Grand Bazaar coz I dont like Grand Bazaar at all. The crops are hideous. The text speed is VERY slow, even if you press the B button and the character running is slow too. I'm someone who love graphics like HM : MFOMT and HMDS. The crops in MFOMT and HMDS are so pretty and the dishes cooked looked really tasty. Although the horse and horse carts are nice, also the wild animals and the cable slide thingy. I dont like the board request too, as I think that should only be in Rune Factory game.
I'd been wanting to play it since it came out in Japan, and it's definitely living up to my expectations. It's so incredibly fun and full of things to explore, collect, grow, poke or jump from, etc. I find myself using each day to the fullest, because if I'm not attending to the crops/livestock or doing requests or cooking, I'm exploring the wilderness or talking to the many people in the game - I just love all the characters.
It really feels like a great mix of the older and newer games, being refreshing and "new" enough but at the same time still keeping a lot of the traditional stuff.
And the requests board addition was one of the best things for me, I /loved/ it in RF so it was awesome to have it implemented here. It gives you more things to do and more chances to bond with the people in town.

What, but the graphics in HM DS are so outdated. It feels like a port of a GBA game, rather than a DS one. And food looks awesome in GrB and ToTT!kenzo wrote:I'm someone who love graphics like HM : MFOMT and HMDS. The crops in MFOMT and HMDS are so pretty and the dishes cooked looked really tasty. 1. Inexplicable Celibacy for the sake of the church.
2. She's a REALLY stubborn heteroromantic asexual. (I'm sure plenty would still "do it" for babies and/or for the sake of their spouse, but I dunno Alissa's case.)
Yay asexuality representation! *shot*
I for one LOVE THIS GAME.I just got it yesterday and am very pleased. But some things really bug me, like, for instance I live job bluebell and it takes me all day to go over the mountains to konohana, and then it starts raining so I have to rush back and put my animals in the barns. Also the horrible fact that te doesn't stop when you go into buildings...bit other than that the good things outweigh the bad things.
European?Anonymous Fish wrote:s many other people have said, it has the old HM feel to it unlike Grand Bazaar. Then again, the reason for that could be the asian-ness. Grand Bazaar had more of a old European feel to it and lacked a shipping bin, for the first time in any HM game.
That's the last word I would've applied to GB.
I love it! Environment is so pretty, music is charming and I've managed to fall into a steady routine which is neither boring nor difficult. The cast is lively, the festivals are cute and I really like the contrast between the two villages. :3
I've only experienced one heart event so far and it was about horses. Horse muzzles.xD

I'm having a blast. It has some of the best parts of GB + the stuff I always liked from the classic games.
Most of my time is going to be spent jumping across the countryside~
Although, the AnonFish that posted about GB being european.. Bluebell in ToTT is also european, so I guess you were referring to Konohana?
I always thought GB had a very old fashioned dutch feel to it.. that's one of the things I liked best about it.

Outdated or not, I still love the graphics. GrB and ToTT graphics just not for me. Well, the food is okay I guess (I kinda forgot what it looks like in HM : MFOMT) but the crop and the tilled field still hideous. Board request should only be in Rune Factory series IMO, it what makes the game different from other HM series.Jlarinda wrote:What, but the graphics in HM DS are so outdated. ANd the fact that the shops closed when it's all-rainy days is SUPER ANNOYING.

It speeds up for me, too. Maybe to help emphasize just how amazingly fast you're going!!ChocolateKisses wrote:I LOVE IT SO FAR! its so much fun and everyday i got so much stuff to do (for now oWo) and requests and people to talk to! im really exited to meet mikhail( CANT WAIT!)
oh one more thing............
does the music speeds up when you are ridding the horse? (or is it just in my game?)

Oh, to be fair I was thinking more about things like the boxes for text and such, than the overall world graphics (which are charming in the GBA/DS-DS Cute versions, too!). I played MFoMT the other day and could not get over how clunky any dialogue scene was. And the older character designs aren't nearly as nice, to me, but YMMV on that.kenzo wrote:Outdated or not, I still love the graphics. GrB and ToTT graphics just not for me. Am I the only one who isn't bothered by the shops being closed on rainy days? Obviously it's a pain when it happens right when you wanna get something, but I kinda like that there're more impredictable things in the game. It keeps it less monotonous, I think.

I Agree with both sides. I still love the graphics for Fomt and HM:DS because it has that classic Harvestmoon appeal. But I also like the new graphics as well. And the graphics, as well as the sound effects in this game are WAY better then those in GrB. The main character sound effects of jumping and stuff got really annoying, really fast in GrB. The shops being closed on rainy days can be irritating. But like it was said. It keeps things less monotonous. I still like the game alot. Best one since HM:DS on the handhelds in my opinion.
