^I see... well, there goes my theory.

Edit: But wait... you said that you got mithril from Ina, right? So I might be right that you only get mithril in Konohana and Adamantite in Bluebell.

Well, in my game I actually don't want to win, but I still want to enter, so I usually buy whatever random thing I find in Howard or Yun's shop that's in the right food category and enter that.

Since those dishes are only a half-star, I always get the dot-dot-dot from Pierre for my dish.

Problem is that lately I've been having really bad (good?) luck and I keep winning anyway. Yun and Hiro keep showing up for my team, darnit! ^_^ Even with my "sabotage", my team can beat Bluebell even when their team is Howard, Jessica, and Laney. I couldn't believe it.
Want to change luck with me? My team was me, Nori and Yun, and the other team was Jessica, Howard and Ash. And I entered a  omelet. We lost. Actually, it was a draw, but that stupid Pierre always choose the opposite team in a draw. I wouldn't be so surprised to lose to Jessica and Howard, but... Ash? Really...?

If you really want to sabotage your team, you can always enter failed dishes, I mean if other contestants can, why can't you.

Flour + frying pan = fun times XD

You also can just pick some herbs and cook them for failed dishes. You can't make them with non-edible things. (I made failed dishes with rocks on HMDS xD)

Heh, yeah, I know. I've considered it, but my tunnel expansions have progressed so far already I decided I don't care much anymore - in this runthrough of the game. So I just enter whatever's handy and take whatever win or loss I get. ^_^

Next gamefile, though - I am planning on just watching all the cooking contests through Year 1 and not entering at all. Free and early Year 2 seeds, here I come!

Ok, I just started second year, and decided to post the results for it on another post. Here I go!

Spring Salad - none, just watched - Cucumber Seeds (won)
Spring Soup - none, just watched - Cucumber Seeds (lost)
Spring Main Dish - Bibimbap, 4.5 stars - - Shrine Cart (won)*
Spring Dessert - Cookies, 5 stars - - Fancy Cart (won)**

Summer Salad - Pasta Salad, 3 stars - :lala: - Onion Seeds (lost)***

* it was the second time Pierre said "It's as if it was made by the harvest goddess herself!" to one of my dishes, so I suppose it is a good recipe.
**Finally got Pierre statue!
*** Ying managed to enter something that was not a failed dish!

As I did with the other post, I'll edit as I play further.

I lost all of my summer festivals through just viewing as well as the fall salad festival (Again, just watched...) and I got two tomato seeds and two onion (I believe...) seeds for the summer festivals... I got spinach seeds for watching the first fall festival... (I assume yam seeds will be the prize at the next festival...) I might have to watch the next one since I don't have a soup that I can make... (Or, I could buy one at Howard's cafe or Yun's teahouse...)

The dishes are from left to right, matched up with the contestants from left to right. The bottom left dish on the table is the left guy's, the top (middle) dish is the middle person's, and the bottom right dish is the right person's. That part was confusing for me at first too :P

that's what I decided ^_^ But thanks for clearing it up. It makes sense.

Anway, I've won 2 festivals (got great butter) and lost 1 (thanks to cheryl and her amazing cooking) when I lost I got a bag of cucumber seeds ^_^ so I dont mind if I lose or win.
