1. I don't know
2. I think that you can only rent one pony cuz you only need 1.
3. You can make the irrigation trenched after you've seen the tutorial. In Konohana you'll see it early, in bluebell you'll see it late.
4. Yes a pet can herd more than one animal but you're gonna have to raise its friendship.
5. I heard that the bears can move the boulders so you're gonna have to raise their friendship.
6. I think you can mine in the tunnel connecting the two towns

1. Some time in the second year.
2. Since all it does is pull the cart you only need one.
3. I'm not sure.
4. It depens on it's friendship/training.
5. I think you have to wait a while.
6. The mine will not unlock until after the towns make up.

You don't have to befriend the bear. I actually hit one with a hammer after it ran me down and it still moved the boulder.

1. I'm not sure, but I think you unlock them in year 2 (just a guess though). I would try getting one of every animal that you can for now though. I noticed that I unlocked the lamb after buying the chick and the calf.

2. I think you have to work on your farm degree to be able to rent better horses and as stated above you only need one horse. I would try renting the pony first though (maybe you need to rent that one before you can get better ones).

3. You can irrigate after you view the tutorial (as stated above you learn it early in Konohana and later in Spring in Bluebell). After you view the tutorial you have to press the control + pad in the direction you want to go and spam the A button. It's very hard to do. You can do it more easily the more your hoe gets upgraded though.

4. Same as above said, they can but you have to raise their affection. I would recommend buying items like the cat bell from the Ucho brothers when possible.

5. I've also heard that you need to befriend the bear to move the boulders. Here are the items that you can feed them to raise their affection: Honey, turnip, potato, tomato, sweet potato, bok choy, carrot, strawberry, corn.
Here are the items for the other wild animals for just in case you would like to know (certain wild animals can forage special items for you, so it's a good idea to try and befriend them all!):Panda: Bamboo grass, turnip, potato, strawberry, tomato, carrot, sweet potato, bok choy, banana, grape
Fox: Egg, black egg, potato, strawberry, tomato, carrot, sweet potato, bok choy, fried tofu
Tanuki: Egg, black egg, tomato, bok choy
Rabbit: Carrot, corn, turnip, sweet potato
Weasel: Egg, black egg
Monkey: Egg, black egg, sweet potato
Boar: Egg, black egg, turnip, tomato
Chickadee: Wheat, corn, rice
Mouse: Corn, cheese
Duck: Medaka-type fish (any size), Wakasagi-type fish (any size). I've also noticed that the ducks like Killifish and Bluegill.

6. There is a crevice by the waterfall that you can often times get ore stones from (you can then drop them and use your hammer to get the ore). You can also mine in the tunnel connecting the two towns after you get the mayors to be friends again and do the tunnel repairs. If you don't know how to get the hammer, you get it in a request from Sheng sometime towards the end of Spring.

Hope I was able to help!

When did it move the boulder? Did you attempt to befriend it at all? I'm really curious as to how you got the bear to move it without befriending it. <.<

For alpacas, you unlock them in Fall Year 2 only if you're raised a lamb to adulthood.

It was early Fall my first year, I guess on the 6th or maybe the 5th. I don't remember the day, but it was just a random cutscene I got when I walked into the waterfall area from Konohana town. It was actually kinda cute. But no I didn't attempt to befriend it. I don't know that I ever have anything the bear would like, so I never tried.

Neat! That helps a lot because we were all led to believe that you had to befriend it first. If you'd like to try befriending it now though I listed what it likes in my post. =]

You get the cut scene only if you are not on the horse.

I assumed as much considering that for pretty much every cut scene you can't be on your horse.

And what time is the best to trigger it? I mean, morning, day, afternoon, night... I always go around on my horse, so it would be a pain to start to just walk cuz of the bear event... :(

^I triggered it about noon of Fall 4.

Ok, "tomorrow" I'll try to just walk and check if anything happens. Thanks!
EDIT: change of plans, I just decided to walk from one city to other and back again and it worked. I was going from Konohana to Bluebell, and it was at 4:50 pm, fall, first year. Thanks, now I can explore a bit more!

verifying this happened to me too. no attempt to befriend any animals, it was a random cutscene on a sunny day.

In any case it's still a good idea to befriend the wild animals because they bring you rare items if you do (just like in IOH and SI). It's good to know that we don't have to befriend them to trigger the cutscene though.
