Anyway, It is the japanese version.
And about the salamander fishing spot? The location is at the highest konohana fishing spot?

What exactly you need to do to get the Giant Salamander? I have tried fishing in the Konohana high-mountain spot for the whole summer and I didn't find it. However, I read in the japanese guide that the salamander is caught after midnight in Fall... is that true?

I haaaaate catching the catfish! Especially when it's one of those times where you have to wait a long time for the fish to bite, and then it's the catfish. And then it keeps happening over and over.

For the Giant Salamander - yep, that is the spot I caught it unless my memory is playing tricks on me. I only caught it one time. It was most definitely NOT either of the waterfall spots though, so if you're not catching it at the Konohana high-mountain spot you could try the dock on the Bluebell side. I'm 98% sure that it's the Konohana high-mountain spot, though.

It certainly could have been after midnight, though for me it was Summer. Definitely not Fall when I caught it. It was very very late though so there's a very good chance it was after midnight when I caught it.

I just found the Giant Hutchen.
Season Winter (old info)
Spot: Kono-High (at least this is the place that i found it) and Blue-High
Rod: Master Rod (old info)
Time: 6:52 sunny (new info?)
Requirements: Must have caught a Giant Salamandar, Dragon Carp, and Giant Catfish first. (old info)

I tried to catch it after 12:00(day) until 2:00 (after midnight) with no success. And i caught it with only one attempt at 6:52(morning) in the next day.

I think this is an useful information and i think that is a good reason to ressurect this topic.

Yeah, Giant Huchen is the only fish left on my fishing list, but I have to wait until Winter now before I can try......we'll see what time I'm able to catch it, since I usually only fish later in the evenings/night and not in the morning. ^_^
