oh my goodness! i must say i JUST got this game and am oober excited to keep playing. i never read any reviews or such for the game, so everything was such a surprise. i love how they give options for you're farm and your primary focus in the game: crops or animals? they threw in many different features from all the harvest moon games and i love it. it makes the game a bit fresh and new. anyone feel the same way as i do? i mean, i haven't been so hooked to a ds game since the first one came out.
and now cam is my challenge. all the marriage candidates have wonderful designs! i love all of them! it was so hard to choose, but cam just reached out to me. he shall be a great challenge because i'm gonna try some major hacking skills to get my boy to marry him. (even though that probably won't work, i shall still try!) even if it fails epically i'll just play the girl all the way through. now for my boy file (if i shall fail at my boy boy attempt) i am at a complete loss. all the girls are sooo oober cute! except Laney. go away Laney. as well as that oracle girl, sorry, not bangin' a twelve year old, 'kay thanks. i wanted to also know what everyone's favorite boy and girl is and why! why not start the topic that has been here since FOREVER and the one i loved the most since 2007 when i first joined this site as JJ. c:
And I love how everything's a surprise too-- I didn't read much either. I love the request system and the two-- I don't know how to phrase this-- How they weigh farming between being about animals and being about crops. I've always utilized both-- So this is kind of difficult for me. I LOOOVE LOVE LOVE the new irricgation system, But I have NEVER been a fan of the cooking... ever. So When it's mandatory I'm all "GAH! "
As far as the marrage candidates-- I have to disagree with you... i think Laney's adorable. Georgia's cute BUT HER SOUTHERN ACCENT WAY OF TALKIN' 'BOUT STUFF kind of irks me. I think the cutest girls though are Reina and Nori. I play a girl though... SO I HAVE TO FOCUS ON BOYS... Which is kind of hard. I am impressed at how Dirk's matured from GrB... Cam and Ash are really nice looking... Hiro doesn't appeal to me at ALL And Kana reminds me of Shoryuu (King En) from "The Twelve kingdoms" who I am SO infatuated with, and would TOTALLY go for if I was a cartoon woman, so he ranks high-- Havent gotten to meet Mikhiel, who reminds me of Eagle(Magic Knight Rayearth2)/Yuki(Cardcaptor Sakura) two of my favorite anime boys of all TIME with my favorite voice actress ever... I hear he's a jerk tho? **shrugs** I dunno, Right now, I favor Kana and Ash....
I really don't like Mikhail. He comes off as really pretentious to me. My favorite bachelor is a tie between Dirk & Cam, and as for bachelorettes, it's Georgia all the way.
I'm playing as a girl on my first file, and it is so hard to decide. Right now, I'm actively wooing Ash and Cam, but all bets are off once Mikhail arrives. I'm going to see who grows on me the most in the end, though, to know for sure. But I've got my eye on Mikhail; Tall, intelligent, plays the violin, total dream material right there. And he arrives in Fall, my favorite season! But ultimately, they will have to win me over
When I start my boy file, I'm kind of fond of Laney. The Oracle is pretty awesome too, with her alchemy! She may look twelve, but I like her personality
haha, thanks for the congrats buuuut, this is one of many topics i have started. especially since i was JJ before and i have over 1000 posts on that account. first post in awhile though! been forever since i logged on. thanks anyways though!
and i can see why they added cooking as a primary feature. many people got irritated because the cooking festivals have had glitches in them in recent games and it's always been an hm fan favorite. i personally love it. it's fun to cook in the game for me. easy love points, extra cash. so many benefits!
now now, let's not diss my southern heritage. i'm from the south and my little southern twain is cute! well, it's what i try to tell myself everyday. haha, i haven't really talked to her too much in the game yet though. i'm still deciding between all of them. i'm never one to go for the 'sweetheart' in the game though. my first love was Karen from harvest moon 64. the cold ruthless lover that warms up to you when you give her booze. ah, booze. never fails.
haha, and i agree, the oracle is cool, but i'm 20. if something looks 16 i freak out. it's just, odd for me anymore. i'd feel like.. like a.. CHILD MOLESTERERER. okay, spaz moment over.

I'm 23... And Pierre freaks me out a little less in this game.... HM characters always look so childlike to me, except in the more recent games.... And it's always been difficult for me to think of marrying the ones that look like they're jailbait...

Haha, he still looks sixteen. in the other game he looks twelve. so yes, it's a bonus, but only for like, an adorable factor. when they first started i really didn't think so. like the original hm games with 64 and mineral town. i feel like more recently they have been.. changing things. like, it was really bad when magical melody came out. BUT regardless you didn't look like a 20 year old character in the game. you looked twelve too. like in some of these games where the main character looks their age, then something like that pink haired girl from ToT comes out of nowhere and is all: "I'M FOURTY-THREE AND I LOOK SEVEN. MARRY ME!!" it creeps me out. i'm just all: "AGE YOURSELF WOMAN." i'd rather marry Elli's grandmother than these « Baaaa *glomp* ». i guess they would appeal to the younger generation of harvest moon players. i know some 13 year old girls and boys who adore this game, so i guess it makes sense.. sorta. haha.
