Why wouldnt you want to adopt?

I realize I think differently on that than other people, but if I was infertile, i would definitely try to adopt. (The keyword is TRY here, I realize some people cannot adopt for whatever reason, in cases where you definitely no way can have kids I think its fine to not have them cuz you can't. But if you CAN I feel you should have kids.)

My mind, my opinion. It's what I would do, not necessarily what some others would do, and that's fine I guess.

That's it! Harvest Moon games need an adoption option! That way, you could have children with Alisa, and they could bring back the "Best Friends" thing from the Japanese MFoMT haha.

Oh, I don't know, because you just don't want kids. Or maybe because you realize the world is overpopulated as it is and that people really need to cut back on the breeding if we want to continue living on this planet. Or maybe they don't have the financial capabilities. Or maybe one or both of them has a disease or illness or disorder or whatever than can be inherited.

Or, and this one is really wild, maybe some people just don't want kids.

Well to be fair here adoption has nothing to do with passing diseases or not wanting to over breed because those children will be waiting whether or not someone adopts them. But yeah... not wanting kids, can't argue with that one.

Yeah, I kind of lost sight of what specific sentence I was replying to, and instead was addressing Anon's general attitude of "Every married couple must have children! There is no other point to the practice!". Oh, well.

Guys guys guys, let's not turn this topic into a moral debate D:

Some women just don't feel good at the thought of bearing children, either they are scared, have some kind of past emotional scar, or, don't think they'd make good mothers. There are a LOT of reasons, so leave Alisa alone :c

As far as the requirements go, I like the challenge, so I'll try to woo her for a while on my boy file. If Marvelous was too lazy to give her interesting lines then I'm out, but if she's as cute as she used to be in IoH/SI, then why not?

Yeah, I hope she has more to say, than "Harvest Goddess this... Harvest Goddess that..." I really like Alisa and I would like to marry her. I don't care if she can have children or not. Kids don't do anything in this game after all.

Because you love someone and you want to be with him/her for the rest of your life?

Hrm.. i see where you're coming from.
I guess it just bothers me that she won't give you the child, despite all your hard work.
I mean, children aren't entirely useful, but i like the events and the idea of Rahi having a thing for my daughter.. >u>

I guess i shouldn't worry about it, I'm stalking Kana, The alisa thing was just somthing my two friends and i got angry about in one of our classes the other day. (Yes, my friends and i will discuss HM and search bachelors online, instead of doing our work. /shot)

And... Love is important! Even without kids.
Alisa should just learn to spread her leg-.. Love.

Alisa is really cute, but...this is why I won't marry her.

You have to work extra-hard at wooing aka bribing/seducing her, have to gather six Wonderful Stones to ask to Goddess to give you permission to marry you (which means she would have turned you down AGAIN if you asked), and then...nothing. No « Chicken Hugging », no kid, you don't even adopt.

I know there's more to love than « Chicken Hugging » and kids, but it just feels like a huge let-down after all that hard work. Even the Goddess and King gave you kids. Even the Witch Princess gave you kids. Even characters like LEIA and KAPPA gave you kids, and fully-human kids at that.

This is why I'm going to marry the Oracle or Lacey or Georgia instead.

I wish they would just give you the option if you want to have a kid or not..with everyone. So it wouldn't be such a problem /: I mean just because you get married doesn't mean automatic kid, I mean jeez we living in the 50's or something? And I think they should bring the "Best Friend system" from the Japanese DS Cute to America XD and include guy "best friends". Equal love for everyone ;D

Okay, I get that this is a game, and it shouldn't be based in real life and all that (even though it's pretty nifty to see jealousy points added in)... She's raised in a religious environment for crying out loud, lol. If you're annoyed that you went through all this marriage requirement just for a character whose position is closely related to a nun irl (she's adopted, yeah, but she's dead set in keeping that religious title), and you're easily offended for the lack of "kid" option (one of the minor feature in the game while we're at it), I think you need to revalue the whole game itself.

I think that the whole thing is quite stupid. I mean Alisa is a NUN. I mean she's already breaking the rules marrying you. And what you want her to do? Renounce her faith just so she can pop out a child? I mean really /: if you love her, then it shouldn't matter if you have a child or not. If you do want a child, marry someone else who hasn't made vows to the Harvest Goddess :P dur.
