I actually unlocked Mikhail on Fall 7th. The mayor of your town should introduce him to you in the morning.

How do I mine/get ore stones? The tunnel is opened and I keep hammering at the wall and nothing happens. I need ore stones for a bed request.

You need to have Eileen open the mine

Unfortunately, hammering at the tunnel walls will never get you anything. Randomly you might find an ore stone on the ground inside the tunnel, though, so you can keep checking there. But no, you do NOT have to open the mine to get ore stones.

Beyond finding them lying around in the tunnel, you may also randomly find ore stones:
1) in the foraging crack by the waterfall in Konohana Mid-Mountain (that's your best bet),
2) from jumping into deep water anywhere on the mountain or in Konohana town,
3) from throwing snowballs (in Winter),
4) in that little hidden alcove spot on the mountain that you can only get to in Winter,
5) sometimes just lying on the ground on the mountain during stormy days, and
6) EXTREMELY rarely as a reward from high-level billboard requests.

Do note that jumping in the water has apparently been nerfed a lot since prior games. There is a 90% chance that you'll get nothing, 9% chance for a 'common item' and a 1% chance to get "jewelry" as the jpn wiki calls it, which I assume is a gem / gemstone / rare metal, as there haven't been sightings of actual jewelry pieces.

Yeah, and also jumping in the water eats up a whole ton more of stamina than it did in GrB too, so only go that route if you have stamina to waste - like using up leftover stamina before going to bed, that sort of thing. You'll be lucky to manage more than 5-6 jumps in a day.

I've seen the white Fox quite a few times since I last asked, yay! :lala:

I have another question:

- Apparently, there is a request where Mako rewards you with Cherry Tree seeds, before you unlock them. Does anyone have any details? Do I have to befriend him? I have him up to almost two hearts.

I said to people that you only need 2 flowers, but we all noticed that this is a B request, so you need to be at level 5 (if I'm not mistaken) to be able to start getting those requests. Actually, it is not before the trees appear, it is just a way to get a free tree seed.

^I don't think so... the only people I know who have won the contest have entered a 4- or 5-star crop.
