Since this thread is about expansion, hope I can ask about this here:

Does anyone know at how many hearts does the second tunnel expansion request come up?

I'm trying to make sure they appear at the second year spring, thank you for your help ^^

I'm pretty sure the progress bar for the mayors (the one added to when you win a cooking contest) is measured by hearts, actually. o-O;

Oh I'm at 5 hearts already, gotta take it slowly then. Thank you :)

@Rina: I was asking about the progress bar so like chuoqiu said, it's heart not flower :P

Do you guys know, where exactly your fields expand in Konohana? Is it only getting larger in the west or will it even expand further north?
I want to know this, because I want to plant trees and I wouldn't like my trees to stand in the middle of the fields later. I would plant them in a horizontal row on the top of the field.

If I can advice you, don't plant trees yet. They take a lot of field space, not to mention that they take a lot of time to grow, so you probably will have a hard time getting the fruits in the same year you planted them. Wait till you have a full upgraded field. Or, like myself, plant them near the water spot. At least I know that, later on, they will not give me a headache because they're in the middle of theh field. And anyway, you can always chop them down with the axe. At least you could in GrB, not sure in this one, since I didn't try it out.

I've only gotten two field upgrades so far...

The first one added a 6 wide x 7 tall area (plus 4 squares) on to the west side of the big starting area.

The second upgrade added a 11 wide x 5 tall area (plus 3 squares) on to the north side of the combined area from the starting spot plus the first upgrade.

I don't know for sure of course until I get further expansions, but I would bet that from now on it will continue expanding northward, and possibly a bit eastward up behind the house. I've got all my trees so far along the west side of the field. If it does expand westward again, I guess I will just fill that new space with trees as well.

I am mapping out the expansion areas in Excel so in later run-throughs of the game I will know ahead of time where I want to put what. ^_^

Hey! I have a slight problem. I didnt take it slow with the marriage thing and I got stuck with the bed expansion quest real early. It took me three months just to find two ore stones (kudos to bluetrillium for the guide). But now I am at the beginning of a month and am afraid to get married because of the triple bed request. What would you all do?
