a. Ushi No Tane is the Japanese name for the Cow Miracle Potion. It directly translates into 'cow seed'.
b. Check the bottom of the main page.

Ushi No Tane is the name for the cow miracle potion in the JP version of the games
and the chickens show posts status like if its locked it will be a grey chicken sideways. If there's unread posts the chicken will be marching etc. There is a legend somewhere on the forums can't remember where.

Hahaha, so why is the site essentially called "cow miracle potion?"

Also thanks for the tip to the legend, but that's not all the chickens o:
Like sometimes the chicken will be in a blue square, sometimes it will be yellow...what do those mean?

The blue square around the chicken means you have posted in the topic, and a golden chicken represents an active thread I think. :)

If the chicken is flapping that usually means someone is making a post in that thread.

a gold square + flapping white chicken means you have posted and there is an unread post
a blue square + flapping gold chicken means the same, but the thread has 20+ replies
a blue square + not flapping chicken (of either colour) means that you have read the posts, and the chicken colour tells you if it is a popular thread.
