not sure but if it works the same as the last one, well....
i couldnt get the two parts to work
sure, they downloaded fine eventualy but i couldnt get them to merge, even with winRAR.
still, its not like i invested as much as everyone else in ether of th two maps. nothing i cant rebuild. and the maps i been playing with from Mace 1.9 have given me lots of new ideas that can be used for stuff ^^
i just wish we could get the furniture mod i have right now, to work on multiplayer as its got useable sofa's, dinner chair and proper tables lol.
ones you can actualy click to SIT in

I finally solved the problem I've been having.
As for structures, I can prune structures of yours from the map for you if you request them, but I don't think I'll upload the whole map.
Wormzy, I'll PM your mansion to you once I sort out the map tomorrow. Server will almost certainly be up mid-day tomorrow. I'll try to find some plugins for you guys and redo the first post to add information for things like the physical shop commands.

afternoon USA or afternoon euro?
(asking so i know not to bother the server till later in the uk time hehe)
would you like me to see if there is a multiplayer version of the furniture mod?
i have asked Pam if she would do some of those type things with her upcomming 'hearthcraft' mod, which is a mixture of the decorating stuff from earthcraft (colored glass, colored stone, colored stone pavers) clothcraft (colored cloth carpet tiles) and some of the other stuff she has such as wheee flowers (which can be used as dyes and as more colored flowers)
im not sure how much decor she is working on, but she's worked out how to make GUI stuff such as a butter churn ect in 1player
i know there are smp versions that i think are currently at 1.0 (jsn_man i think is his name) updated for her, i will check to see if those are available atm but i think her hearthcraft is a much better solution since what me would mostly use would be deco more than anything.
ether way, most of pams mods are decorating usefull, allthough the ores in earthcraft are craftable into armour and wepons and the desertcraft gives you sticks out of cactai, and bonecraftlets you use bones as sticks in emergancies and also bone armour...lol.
realy, its harvestcraft (or simple harvestcraft) and woodcraft with whee flowers would probably be most usefull.
(simple giving you a much smaller crop and food base than the full harvestcraft)
wait. im rambling again XD
*edit*
yep, there is a thread where he tells how to bukkit em
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/769 ... smpbukkit/
even if we dont use them, it might make interesting reading...*goes to be nosey*
hm. so according to that, any mod that adds new armour wont start on a bukkit. well that lets out earthcraft, clothcraft, bonecraft..but leaves woodcraft (colored wood planks) whee flowers and harvestcraft at least. lol

I think Vann is on the West Coast, so afternoon will probably be pretty late at night for euro.
Also, server shows as up, but I'm not gonna join yet, just in case we aren't supposed to yet.

yeah, thats why i dont want to stress it.
i had an incident when i started on the net that taught me to treat servers gently. my cable connection had been accidentaly cut by my dad when gardeining. they had come and spliced the cable and no one told us (or the company) and by then, the splice had degraded so badly my outgoing signal was -10
thats bad.
verry verry bad.
so bad that, if i was trying to connect to a server in say, the usa or vegas (which i had been doing) it would crash the server.
once they explained it to me, i ended up just on the net, and no games. for a month and a half....i was nearly nuts XD (i spent the time making maps for neverwinter nights1, so i wasnt quite as bad as i thought i would be...) becaue i didnt want to upset anyone elses servers trying to connect. i did connect to a couple of UK servers once in a while...i tried the online version of the anke-moreporke server that way.

no, i dont think it was a DOS attack. it was just that the sigal going out was supposed to be so low that the servers i was trying to connect to tried so hard to connect to me, they crashed. see the neverwinter servers werent actual servers. they were peoples home PCs that ran the server version of the game (just the data needed for us to connect to, not the game itself) and they were only supposed to host about 5-10 players max.
dont forget, this was back in the '90's befor we had servers and mmo's other than comercial ones.
heck, the donation servers for stuff like fraghause could only hold 50 players max and the code was so old they had on heartbeat scripts that casued the game to lag like frell if anyone was outside of an interior cell too long XD
(to be honest, i dont know how to do those dos ie denial of service? attacks. all that stuffs beyond me even now, and im kinda glad becasue there have been some players and times that i wished i could hack. if i cant, then i dont have to be tempted lol)

DOSing isn't hacking, it's just spamming a server with a bunch of pointless requests (ideally requests that cause a lot of server load) so that the server is too busy with the bogus requests that legitimate users can't access what they need to. It's pretty easy for a half-competent webadmin to prevent DOSing (for an example, check out Ushi's search function -- you're not allowed to search more than once a minute or something, since searching causes a lot of server load), which is why DDOSing is more popular these days.
DDOSing is basically the same thing, but it uses an array of connections (traditionally a botnet). That causes the server to get bombarded by requests from so many unique connections at once, it can't discern which ones are legitimate and falls over.
I don't think the quality of your connection would have had any bearing on the servers; either the server would receive the packets your PC is sending, or it wouldn't. If the packets were corrupted, then the server should have discarded them, causing your client to time out, rather than the server to crash. Even if it was in the 1990's, TCP and IP would have already been around for ~20 years, I'm fairly confident that at error checking would have been in place by then.

Regarding server mods, I'd love a lift/elevator mod. All the lifts in my mansion are replaced with ladders, and it kinda spoils the effect imo. D:

well, its good to know that bunch of tossers that told me i had hacked their server were talking out their arses then ^^ and it was all about some tosspot and their « Mayor Thomas » complex throwing their toys out of the pram (truthfully, their server wasnt that fantastic. the ones that i tried after them were much nicer, hence why i had stayed off after the engis had told me it was my connection lol)
well i know there are mods that work with lifts using water or pistons ect.

this one seems to have working 4block space elevators and a smp version. not sure if it works with bukkit though

Mods need to be bukkit plugins. Sorry.
Sometime in the future when I'm not as busy gaining momentum with programming, I'd like to setup a roleplaying map with all sorts of suitable plugins, like thievery and factional warfare... anonymous name changes so we don't know who's who, etc.. There's a lot of plugins I've seen over the last year that can be put together to make something really unique, and it would be awesome to do it with you folks.
