I say this because there's a resource deficit in the public chests compared to what's in most peoples' private chests. Especially Iron.
Resources here should be allocated either to public vaults or to your own projects within the city. It was decided at the start that we couldn't bring old resources to the city for the sake of building up from scratch again -- They generally shouldn't leave either, unless we cease working there, or it's just abundant and not necessary.
The current building is meant primarily as a resource center. It's in the process of expanding beyond the walls at the moment, where we will begin to figure out where we'll be building (such as residential buildings for ourselves, away from our stairwell haven)
Ask Lexy for what you can do to help, since we're transitioning out of the "farming" stage.
The city is also meant to be inspired by Dwemer cities from Skyrim. Questions about the theme should be asked to Lexy.
MY personal desires at the moment would be to decorate and alter our resource center building to improve it while building the main roads outside the city. @Lexy; thoughts?
I just made a ton of charcoal so we can smelt a ton of cobble into stone and craft stone bricks. That should help with variety.
I'll clean out my chest of anything useful in a minute, just eating dinner right now.

Why did you touch someone else's personal stuff roro?
I spent
hours farming those chickens and you just killed them all. You need to kill a small portion of them and breed more to replace them. I didn't even get a single harvest in.
Oh, Madie, I'll upload your mountain home tomorrow when I wake up (going to bed soon)

well it depends on how long you been gone hehe.
about a week or so ago vann reuploaded the 1.8.1 map and updated to 1.1, and about a month befor THAT, we were in the ooold ushi map from befor 1.8.1ish. the one with the skyway and the rainbow house and the lovenasium.

Yeah.....I'm fairly certain we've changed maps quite a few times since then. You have the village with big sandstone "houses", right?

is that the desert village near the old city center? (ie the one near the place with the huge tower with fire ontop that is the original map spawn start area)
i moddied a desert village i found out there a while ago (just befor xmas i think) while there is a village been stratch build between the round sandstone tower base and that village (the scratch build village has a church with a lava cross and water curtain back wall)
i know someone else has a desert village that was on fire a while back but the one i built only had wood in some of the rooves of the poorer buildings (i was trying to remake the style of the milianare hindi villages without the mud brick blocks lol so i dont think it was that one...now IM confused XD

hey vann, this might have a usefull recipy for the server...
more recipies has one that lets you turn dirt and seeds into grass! instead of having to wait for it to grow up your stairs
since we have a shedload of seeds, i thought you might like it. and its allready bukkit so it might be easier to add. you could probably turn everything else in it off if you didnt want it though.

sasuko, i take it your house is the one in the desert village i moddied?
hehe, glad you like it, if thats the case. i added a little garden place next door for you having lost the view, and if i wad the parts, would have added chickens in the chicken farmer house and animals in the barn part.
once i realised (becasue of the pumpkin lantern lol) that one house was owned, i gave that one no actual changes but the little garden part
speaking of the server...
Pam's remoddied her mods. once 1.2.3 forge hits, we get a new decoratives mod called HearthCraft :D
she's got close to 200 new blocks, all of which are decorative. its her earthcraft colored stone, cobble and pavers with glass fences, stairs, decorative leaf blocks, the carpets (now in textured aswell as plain with borders) glass pavers, metal pavers, metal fences...
now that might not be any good for us right now, but with luck Jsn_man will adapt it for bucket and THEN we can have it. and belive me, it WILL be worth it, since it is totaly decorative, nothing that can give one an advantage in a fight ect.
as i get news (and the 1 player versions) i will keep everyone updated but this is ONE mod that we realy could make much use off since were all so decorative :p

@silverbane: thank you! :D there should also be a sign on my house saying it's my house xD but I do like the little garden ^_^ I need to find some cats...but for some reason I can't log into the server D:

Did you update your client? Vann's server is still 1.1 (?), so if you have the 1.2.3 client, you won't be able to connect.
