You can get it by fishing with a fishing rod. (Still trying to get it myself... gonna take a while...)

Here's some more info on it. Just scroll down to where it says "Cooking Recipes".

Does anyone know how the heart system works with animals? Like how much FP animals gain when brushed or milked or talked to? Are there certain animals that take longer to raise hearts of?

Also, what is the fastest way you have gained hearts on an animal? I need to get 10 hearts on my alpaca for the festival and the damn thing is still at 7 hearts after much WIFI trading rooming -____-

A Wasabi seedling is gifted to you from the lady in the Sakura Land vacation spot (grow it in paddies,) and Seaweed is found RARELY at the Southern Island on the beach, but I've never even SEEN it...we know it's THERE but it's super hard to find.

And, to get Kosaboro, befriend Hana a lot and wait until at least Winter Year 1. He shows up at any time AFTER Winter Year 1, it doesn't have to be specifically in Winter.

I don't know exact point values or anything, but in-game as long as you are doing everything you can (talking to, brushing, making sure they eat, milking/shearing, feeding them a treat, and possibly taking them outside) then you are raising the hearts as much as you can in-game. I have not noticed any animal-fp boost by taking them to the Animal Sanctuary, but maybe I just didn't do it enough...

I have noticed that when I bought two animals on the same day (ex: 2 sheep) and treated them exactly the same, frisky animals will gain hearts the fastest, and skittish animals will gain hearts the slowest. Gentle is in the middle.

Wifi really is the fastest way to gain an animal's hearts. Just keep at it. Although be aware, if you're trying to win the advanced festival, hearts won't be enough. It would be a good idea to take that alpaca to the Animal Sanctuary at least once or twice if you haven't already. It'll give you a bit of an edge. If you can get it up to producing Great products (50 game-hours in the animal sanctuary), or more than one product (with treats), so much the better.

It's actually pretty simple.
Turn on your 3DS.
On the bottom screen, you'll notice an orange square-shaped happy face at the top. Click on it.
It'll take you to your friend list.
Once there, you'll be able to register other friend codes and see your own too.

^ Note that you might first have to make a Mii in the Mii Maker if you haven't already. And that you can't get your friend code (or enter any of your friends) unless you're connected to wifi.

The seaweed is only obtainable from the small island the turtles take you to. You won't find it by just visiting the beach.
iirc it takes 27 visits to the beach to befriend the turtles- gifting them each time you visit. They like small fish

I've heard a couple people say that seaweed is also possible to be found on the pineapple island that you can get to via the dock and jumping rocks. *shrug* Dunno, like I said I haven't found any, just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah throughout my 50 reloads or so I've only seen 1 occurrence of the seaweed in that cocoa/pinneapple island. no need turtles.

TBH if it takes 50 reloads I'd rather just feed the turtles. You need it for a few recipes for Sandra so in the long run it will pay off. To reiterate I've never seen it anywhere else on the beach and I've lost count of the amount of times I've been there.

So are you saying it's much more often on the turtle island?
