Vaughn. I just don't get it, honestly! What is so great about him!? XD Maybe I'm just not getting the big picture or something...?
But, I mean, he's ok, but maybe it's just me, as I don't like the tsundere type (and the "gray-looking" hair is a turn-off as well for me).

I don't always like the really popular bachelors/bachelorettes (even though I usually do..), but I can see why they're popular. I just always see things from someone elses view. I personally didn't like Skye. At all. But I can see why girls liked him.

There's more hate for these bachelors than love, you know.
The haters overlap the fangirls. I don't really like these topics, because there are many.
Nothing against this particular one though.

I remember I said nearly the exact same thing quite awhile ago in a topic about Vaughn. I get really tired of topics hating on popular characters/questioning why they are popular. There are so many and those characters obviously get as much hate as they do love. Possibly more hate.

I don't think people necessarily hate a character sometimes, but are actually venting their frustrations of people saying stuff like this too often:
"OmG! LIEK MR.BILLY-BOB-BOB IS THE HAWTEST BACHELOR EVAR IN HM!!!!!!!!!! "

Obviously that's a highly exaggerated example and might not be the actual reasoning of people, but I consider it a fair guess.

Anyways, I try not to let popularity of bachelors influence my decisions. It still affects it a little, but I still end up choosing popular bachelors, somewhat... (Wizard, was originally going to go for Skye, before switching to another bachelor)

Honestly, most of the fangirls who behave like that (and the ones who ruthlessly bash the rival girls) are probably still just kids. Under 15 I would guess. So I just ignore stuff like that and figure they'll grow out of it eventually.

I mean, I know people complain about rabid HM fangirls a lot, but as annoying as they are, try to remember that this fandom has a lot of younger members because the games appeal to so many different age groups.

I also find that the people that hate certain bachelor/ettes are usually more vocal about it than the fangirls. Sure, every once in a while I'll read a "Oh I love ____! They're so ______!" End of conversation (usually). I don't see many topics of obsession or love for that matter for a specific character unless you want to include fanclubs but they don't count to me. Where as there's many more for "Why do people like ___? They're so this and that and blah blah blah blah blah."

I'm not trying to be mean either incase I'm coming accross that way. I think people should just accept that everyone's different and move on.

It's not exactly a character, but I've had experience running a hate club, and they always get flamed.

I imagine that would be the same for HM characters and hate topics. But I could be wrong. :/

I think it's just that everyone tries to keep a friendly atmosphere here, and going on about hating someone just upsets people. I personally don't care, but I know a lot of people take it personally when you bash on their "love". Plus there's quite a lot of these topics
