Oh yeah~ I forgot about ElliotxJulia, I don't care for that one much either. It would have felt more natural to me if Elliot was paired up with Sabrina, and Julia with Vaughn. Actually, none of the IoH/SI pairings made much sense to me, except DennyxLanna. And maybe LilyxWill, but it felt more like she was marrying him for his wealth.

I have the same problem with VaughnxSabrina for that reason, as well as RockxLumina. Plus, I don't like their clashing personalities~

Another pairing I didn't care for was MariaxFishing guy (forgot his name) in MM. I don't see how an outdoors-man who hardly goes indoors and a bookworm who hardly goes outside would ever make a feasible couple. It's like they were the last two characters left over after everyone else got paired up. x3


And as for the removal of rivals in ToTT, I don't really care but it doesn't feel like a true HM without it. At least the bachelorettes will be spared from the wrath of angry fangirls this time around~

Yea, all Lily wants is money. And I really liked Natalie x Pierre for some reason.

Mostly I don't care, considering how I'm too lazy to play match-maker half the time, buts there's a few couples I don't care for

Like CandacexJulius and GillxLuna, I don't hate them by any means, it would just be better if they got switched around and Luna and Julius would have to coolest kid evar

A good half of the "pairings" in MM make absolutely no sense

And I really don't like JinxAnissa, their heart events are cute and cheesy like everyone else's, but after they're married, all they do is complain

I also really, really hate GustafaxNami, I love these two, but that relationship wouldn't last more than 10 minutes

As for SI... I didn't give any of the characters the time of day so I can't honestly say

I don't like the Elliot x Julia pairing much or Chase x Maya (I like both characters, but they don't really go together IMO)

Gill x Candace and Julius x Luna would've been epic. ;3;
/loves Vivian though, although I dislike her parents hooking up

I actually liked Elliot x Julia. I thought the two went well together, as Elliot needed someone who was sweet and patient, and is able to help him build some self esteem both towards himself and what he does.

I also really liked Owen x Kathy. Their last rival event was really bad, but I still like the pair, oddly enough.

I guess I'm the only one who loves Julius x Candace and thinks Julius x Luna makes zero sense. Okay, they both like fashion. So what? Candace is obviously passionate about the clothing industry as well, even if she doesn't dress herself up that much. Plus Julius and Candace have, you know, an actual history together and he's had a crush on her since they were little.

They may have history together, but it's not always positive. It's because of Julius that Candace was so painfully shy and had such low self esteem. He may love her, but he did nothing good for her.

For Julius and Luna, it would make sense since Julius would be able to connect with her due to their similar tastes in fashion, as well as the fact that Julius is the "princely" type that Luna is looking for. Fashion is a very important part of Julius, and since Candace herself doesn't like to dress up in fancy/dressy type outfits, that upsets Julius because he can't connect with her through that, but he wants to. But really, fashion has little to do with why Julius x Candace is a bad combo, but because it's through their differences and inability to be able to bend for the other that makes them a bad pair in the long run.

Ah I hate those pairings where it feels like the creators just said 'Wait, we have a couple of leftovers. Who's gonna pull names out of the hat?' I think that if it came to that, they should have made one or the other character more compatible for each other.

As for them getting rid of the rival system, I missed rival weddings in GrB but you still had rival heart events so it was cool since you knew there was love going on. In ToTT, you have neither and it sucks. I don't have ToTT yet but I'd feel empty and selfish almost if I was the only one to date someone and marry them. I'd rather break up a pairing then have no pairings at all. I really hope there's rivals and weddings in the next handheld HM. If there's not...;__;

I'm quite fond of Ivan/Sherry myself. I think she's much more suitable for him than Ivan/Freya ^^

Perhaps I'm just misinterpreting their personalities, but to me, Vaughn seems like a person quick to anger, I can see their relationship turning sour very quickly, maybe even dysfunctional. And Sabrina strikes me as the kind of person who wouldn't seek help if her husband would hurt her - not only to protect him, but also out of pride - she stood up to her father when he didn't want to let her marry Vaughn, she probably wouldn't come back to him and admit her decision was a mistake.

I much prefer Sabrina with Mark and Vaughn with Chelsea - even if I don't like the second pair together very much, I imagine Chelsea would have at least slightly more successful relationship with Vaughn than Sabrina would ever hope to.

I personally thought that Sabrina would be the type to fall for anybody as long as they were nice to her, which is why I don't have much of a problem with Mark/Sabrina or... Elliot/Sabrina. It makes sense. But it's the fact that she might warm up somebody like Vaughn that makes me so affectionate of Vaughn/Sabrina.

I don't know that Vaughn is the type who's quick to anger though. Once while writing a fic, I did make him like that because I thought it would be his nature (while I was still in the early stages of playing), but after watching a few events of his, I threw it out because it doesn't feel right to me.

Chelsea might be able to handle that sort of behaviour, but I'm not too fond of the pairing because I think that Vaughn is probably more compatible with somebody who could help him in a more gentle, sympathetic way. I always saw Chelsea as more of a genki girl.

Generally, my rationale is that Vaughn/Sabrina works, not because Vaughn could be good for Sabrina, but because Sabrina is good for Vaughn.

Also, did anybody ask for my opinion? Nope. I'll shut up now.

I loved Nami's and Cliff's event in Cute. I didn't know she saved him when he fainted in Mineral Town. They both are lonely and shy travelers. I believe they would make much better couple, than CliffxAnn.

Cliff x Nami would've actually been quite cute. Especially since they understand the need for their own time but also can provide quality time for one another. That, and Nami would be the more dominant partner in the relationship (personality wise, not necessarily « Chicken Hugging », lol), but she'd be more subtle about it. Ann would always boss around and man-handle the poor guy. Never liked that pairing much.

Uh... I don't think physical abuse is very amusing but that's just me. -.-;

@Anonymous: It's the double standard society has. It's hilarious (or embarrassing) when a man gets hit and abused by his wife, but people get all upset over when a man hits a woman. When in reality, it's wrong either way you put it.

Now, I don't think one99five necessarily sees/means it like that, or most likely anyone else who likes the pairing, but I do think that the pair itself has a lot of underlining abuse in it. I've only played MFoMT, but that's what I got the impression of as I played the game.

Oh I didn't really mean abuse. Sorry about my wording. I just meant that it amused me that Ann was always being so dominant and bossy to Cliff. Their rival events amuse me. But like I said, I don't think they'd do well as a couple because of the abuse.
