Frankly, if they wanted to go the extra mile in realism, there'd be a few bachelor/bachelorettes with multiple love interests aside form you and one person going after them.
And the "Special Bacheloretetes/Bachelors" kept it real by making people that no one else might be interested in. Not everyone's that conveniently lucky in love, you know.
Having no rival is just too easy.
I think it should also be more of a challenge against the rivals, since you pretty much can have whoever you want in HM games, but the rivals can only get married if you befriend them, or go to a certain place, or have a 1 rival event a year limit - things like that that make it virtually a given you can marry the person you had your eye set on from the start of the game or whatever. ^^
I want the rival feature from MM to come back. That was awesome.
I didn't like how in MM, the rivals never got married. You just saw scenes. I was like, "you mean I went to all these places at the right time and none of them even get married?" -.-
I don't mean the Rival Couple Feature. I mean the Rival Feature. As in Jamie was your rival in all the festivals and everyday shipping. Why can't there be another farmer as crazy as the MC XD?

Ooh, that sounds really cool And more realistic. I hate how the whole village/island relies on you for winning all their comps and shipping, because no-one else can be bothered XD
Yes, I would love the return of rival marriages. :'D
But I kinda hope there is atleast one bachelor/ette that doesn't have a pair, so you can marry him/her and not mess up the rest of the couples. Then, nobody will be left alone.

In that case, I agree! :D I usually lost to Jamie, but that one time I won against him I would jump up and scream "IN YO' FACE!" while pointing at the screen. XD
I hope there will be rival couples and i hope they'll have kids. Wouldn't it be nice if your child could marry one of the rival children?:D A second generation would be nice like Rune factory 2. That would make the game more exciting after marriage.
