did the date warp you to a location?

okay, it could be related to scene clean up, but I feel like a piece of the puzzle is still missing. I'm going to play and hope for another freeze, this time on a day that is simple to reproduce. If anyone else gets a sequence please post so we can cross reference them/reproduce the error.

I have so many things to respond to but it seems pointless. Darcie, if you want me to send you a detailed report of day 14 where I got it to crash on purpose 3 times in a row, then please message me.

P.S. I'm a programmer too.

lol green and pink umbrellas don't get hidden properly on date scenes. Just got one hovering with no holder in one until the scene ended.

...edit...
I'm going to head to bed. Thanks again to everyone who provided data today. I'm sure we will have it figured out soon. Let's just hope it's not a case of the dreaded random number generator problem... though I suspect we would see more of it if it were.

I'm a bit late, but here's my input.

#1) The bug happens when loading some mountain areas, excluding the one closest to each town
- Yes. Both times it froze, this has been the case.

#2) Reproducing the bug on the same day at the same time is not easy to do.
- I have never even tried doing that.

#3) Riding the horse and cart increases the chance of the bug triggering.
- I run everywhere.

#4) Having animals out during the day on your farm increases the bug
- I believe this was true for me.

#5) Your character is not wearing the kono outfit
- My character lives in Konohana, and I was wearing the Konohana outfit both times.

#6) Your character is female
- Yes.

#7) It is sunny but going to rain later that day
- I seem to remember that both times, or at least one out of two so far, has been on a fully sunny day.

#8) 3DS playing the DS does NOT have this problem
- I don't know.

#9) DS on DS does NOT have this problem(confirm or deny this)
- I don't know.

Yes, both my crashes occurred when moving to a new screen in the mountains, once from Konohana middle to high, and once from Bluebell middle to high.

#2) Reproducing the bug on the same day at the same time is not easy to do.

I have tried to reproduce the bug both times it crashed and was not successful.

#3) Riding the horse and cart increases the chance of the bug triggering.

Both times the game crashed I was riding my horse and cart.

#4) Having animals out during the day on your farm increases the bug (please confirm or deny this)

All my animals were inside when the crash occurred.

#5) Your character is not wearing the kono outfit (confirm or deny this)

My character lives in Bluebell, so I can't wear the Konohana outfit.

#6) Your character is female(confirm or deny this)

My character is male.

#7) It is sunny but going to rain later that day(confirm or deny this)

Both times it crashed for me, it was raining all day.

#8) 3DS playing the DS does NOT have this problem(confirm or deny this)

Unknown, but not likely.

#9) DS on DS does NOT have this problem(confirm or deny this)

As far as I know I have never heard of this crash on the DS version.

One question regarding firmware... I am on the latest firmware, Ver. 2.1.0-4U. Has anyone gotten the crash on earlier firmware?

Just froze again. Summer 15, year 1, 4:45pm going on horse+cart from either kono1->kono2 or kono2->kono3. No cutscene, did not buy animals that day.
Additionally, I went into the mountains (bluebell1) before doing farmwork in hopes this would keep my game from freezing, but it froze anyway. Sunny all day, animals are all outside, NEVER put the game into sleep mode. I'm guessing the freeze either has to do with nighttime transitioning or the game trying to calculate what creatures/wildlife should be onscreen. Any other questions?

Hi im not sure if this matters but I was wandering which button you guys was using to run or move when your game froze? On the normal ds it only has the one directional button for movement but on 3ds you can also use the circle like button above it. Both time my game froze i was using the regular diectional button. I have now been trying to only use circle button to move in moutain area and my game hasnt froze up yet since so not sure if maybe I have just been gettin lucky or if movin with circle device instead may really help. Maybe you could try let me know thanks.

thanks all. I haven't been able to get it to glitch for me since I decided to root out the problem, so I have not been able to check a few things xP I am wearing the konohana outfit... has anyone gotten a freeze with this on yet? I'd like to scratch it off the list of factors asap.

Experienced another freeze today. Summer 22nd. Evening, somewhere between 6-8PM. I was heading from Konohana to Bluebell. Freeze occurred as I moved from the second mountain screen to the third, with horse and cart. I am a resident of Bluebell, female, wearing the work outfit.

Here's my day's log:
-Woke in Konohana town hall
-Watered crops
-Rode to Bluebell
-Took care of crops and animals. All animals outside, no mini games. Experienced quite a bit of lag.
-Headed into town and spoke with Bluebell residents. Finished up a request with an Ucho brother.
-Went on a date with Ash (Blue flower event)
-Headed back to Kono, did some foraging on the Bluebell side of the mountain on the way there.
-Visited Kono residents.
-Bought seeds and fertilizer from Gombe.
-Watered crops at Kono.
-Headed back to Bluebell. Started foraging. In second mountain screen I experienced severe lag (it was really bad. There weren't even many animals or bugs).
-Crash occurred as I left the area

I would like to point out was my question was did you buy anything not just animals. For the person that said I did not buy animals that day.

I thought it was only my game that didn't freeze if I went to the mountain area first thank you for confirming that.

Also to point this out. I played my DS version on my 3DS for almost all of the time I played it with no glitch.

Yes many people have said they got the freeze wearing the konohana outfit, as have I.

What I did really notice and for each time I had a crash it was from the 2nd to 3rd screen each time I noted it. From the place where I woke up. Has anyone had anything different? As in you woke up in bluebell and had the glitch on the konohana side? Or other way around? Also has anyone had the glitch going from 3rd to 2nd screen on either side?

-----------------

What I also wanted to note is my game never experienced any lag at all. Unless it was changing from morning to noon, noon to evening, etc. Or raining but the lag was very very minimal and only lasted less than a second. Even with all my crops or animals I had no lag.
