Super Ultra Awesome Harvest Moon Runthrough! - update 06/01

I decided I wanted to reminisce over the old Harvest Moon Video games. So I thought I would share it on here so other Harvest Moon fans could join in and share!

My Goal: To Play (almost) All Harvest Moon Games!

You can join at any day. You don't have the play the game all the way through or even to the end of the first month. But instead just play to reminisce over old times and share your info here! And just have fun! What I do ask is instead of posting multiple posts to update just edit your one post.

i won't be doing this, but good luck!! (though, mine wold be a bit easier since i only own a few games, haha~)

is your goal to just complete the game, or is it to do well in the game? for example, getting 100% completion in 64 or marrying the goddess in FoMT would be a lot more time consuming than simply making it to the ending or getting married and having a successful farm. and what are you considering "complete"? you can get to the evaluation in some games, or finish the story in others, but others don't have any set goal. how will you be completing those?

it seems a bit redundant to be playing both BTN and B&G or the DS and 3DS versions of ToTT or the GB and GBC versions of HM1... any reason why you are playing multiple (nearly identical) versions of the same games?

you have 30 games to play and ~60 days, so you will need to complete about one every 2 days. good luck with that!!




oh, and my first memory of harvest moon? the pink trees. i thought the game looked dumb because the trees looked like cotton candy. oh, to be 7/8ish~

Well I happen to own those multiples and yet never played them. So I thought I would. It's not to complete the game but 1) for those I haven't played to actually play them so I can say I did. 2) To Complete some of the games that I am almost done it but gave up on or stopped. 3) But mostly just to play them all.

For example I bought back to nature but already own B&G. I would love to say I have actually played back to nature.

My specific goal is making it to the ending. Good or bad. Just playing it through. Some of my games I do have save files on (duh) but I would like to just make it their. Obviously for games that are exact replicas, I want to play it to actually just play it, and maybe notice some differences.

13/11/2011 - Completed Puzzle de Harvest Moon (there literally is nothing to that game, just minigames I played them all got some high scores and left it)

I won't give up even if it takes a little longer! I'm bored I took this semester off of school and can't think of anything else to do! Plus I bought like 10 old school harvest moon games to make me closer to owning all the games and thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane!

To make this trip even more authenitic I am playing each of the games on their original console. (Ex. HM GB on the GB, HM 2 GBC on the GBC, etc) However the virtual consoles only let me play it on the console I bought it on. :'(

Today's Update!

Well I've finished everything I need to in HM GB, So I just need to play to the end of the year. :D

In HM SNES, I'll probably finish the game (by getting an ending) by the end of summer. Either by marrying Ellen or getting 4 chickens.

In HM MLS, I have no clue what I need to do to finish it. I have nothing left to do I just continuously repeat the same day over. I am totally stuck. Which may cause me to have to play this game through out this whole entire runthrough!

Up and Coming!!

Next game to replace HM GB: HM GBC. The goal here is to play to the end of spring and see if there are any differences in the game.

To replace HM SNES: HM 64. I have absolutely no clue on the goal for this game because some people say you have to play for 3 full years and well I don't have time for that. So I'll figure something out. :D

EDIT: I've decided to play to the end of the year or until I get married (2 year spring). It depends on how repetitive it is to HM SNES.

To replace HM MLS: HM FF. Beat the game. :D

EDIT: I put the game in my DS and found out I had already beaten the game on each persons story mode. So I played a few levels and realized, I must have been really dedicated to beat it then however after playing 3 different storylines and failing at two others, I called this one beaten. :D I decided to take a break from HM MLS. But I guess back to it!

Other Info.

If you haven't notice the theme to my playing here it is. I'm playing games based on the year they came out. But also in three categories: Console; Handheld; & Spinoff. Though console and handheld go by the year, spinoff is a little different first starting with HM spinoffs, then heading to IL.

You also may have noticed Rune Factory was not in this list. For two reasons: 1) It is becoming it's own series so I don't count it as Harvest Moon anymore. 2) I've beaten the games all fully except for the newest one. (And by fully I mean complete levels in everything including crops. In everything but sleeping bag. >.> I hated that one.) So rest assured they have been played to their full extent. These Harvest moon game I have either not played or never played to their full extent.

A few harvest moon games: HM FoMT, HM AWL & HM AP. I have played them to their full extent. But due to the Super Ultra Awesome Runthrough. I will play them again to a certain point. Just to feel what it's like to have played them when they came out.

For those of you who are actually checking up on my progress (I know you are due to the view count!) I thank you for caring and supporting me! When I beat a game (other than games that have no stats what so ever) I will list them after I beat them, so you can know I beat them, or played them. Depends on the game.

I would have still lost. The last 5 powerberries are in the second year. Poop.

Today's Update!

I beat HM GB sadly failing. ;.; However I gave it a good run! So in it's place I have started playing HM GBC. The goal here is to see the differences between the two. I'll play it for the whole spring. :D

Made no progress in HM SNES or HM MLS. Due to finishing HM GB! Took all day but it's done!

Up and Coming!!

Since I beat HM GB, HM GBC has already replaced it. So the next game to come is HM 2 GBC. Hope they aren't too similar. No goal as of yet. I'll be figuring it out!

Same info for HM 64.

Since I was playing HM FF before I was supposed to and beat it this means IL is next on my list. I won't be beating it before HM MLS since some on has borrow both my IL & ILSE. So I will be getting those back hopefully before I need them but I will play first IL & then ILSE. ILSE is going to be the same way HM GBC is going. Playing for differences. However IL I'll be playing for longer, to beat the game.

Other Info.

I am not very good about finishing things I start unless other people care about it. Mostly cause it feels like I am talking to myself on here. XD So I want to thank, "TheHarvestGoddess" for stalking my progress. :D I feel like my quest is worthwhile now!

Yesterday's Update!

Sorry for the long wait guys. I was working on these games up until the end when I ran to my midnight showing of Breaking Dawn Part 1. >.>;; Don't judge me. (Lol it's okay I was one of the first fans way back in high school when it came out... it's gone way too mainstream since then). Regardless of that matter!

COMPLETED GAMES!

Harvest Moon My Little Shop!
Time Started: 1pm EST 11/13/2011 to 7pm EST 11/17/2011!
Current Progress: Game Complete with credits! 3 Chickens? and 3 Cows. 1 VIP customer and 3 new customers. 1 Reservation (with the harvest goddess! :D) 27 Regular Customers.
Other Info: Name: Mel; Female. Have all the upgrades for the store purchased everything in the game. But no DLC.

Time Started: 4:30pm EST 11/16/2011 to 11:30am EST 11/18/2011!
Current Progress: Spring 12th. 1 Chicken & 1 egg incubating. And absolutely NO SICKLE!!!
Other Inf - Name: Mel; Female. Cat: Siam; Horse; Sora. 9 Pieces of Food & 3 Drinks. 3280G.

I would continue this game if it totally hadn't glitched out. My goal was to get to the end of spring but my farm is so glitchy that I can't even play it and would have to start over again. Like the ground is literally glitching away. O.O Like there are parts and pieces of water all over and parts of stumps all over and fences that just don't exist. The Timer function glitched my whole game and it did NOT work! I can't at all get my sickle back. So I would have to reset and start all over. If I have time before this runthrough ends I may play it again. But I did exactly what I wanted!

EDIT: What I mean by this problem is the Timer doesn't work at all. it's supposed to advance your game and they water crops for you, but literally nothing happens. No time moves on and the harvest sprites do nothing. And the glitching started as soon as I turned it on. I waited 12 hours but nothing happened then realized I chose "slow" so then I waited another 12 hours on "fast" and another 12 hours on "fast" but absolutely no sickle. -.- And they did nothing. No time advance and no taking care of crops. Along with half of my fields destroyed with glitches. Unhappy times.

Here is a list of differences!

Differences between HM GB & HM GBC:

1) It's in color! :D
2) Watering can holds 30 instead of 20.
3) There is a timer function that does not appear in the GB at all.
4) The Sickle/Hoe needs you to wait REAL hours for it to appear.

Other than this I will be starting HM 2 GBC and Innocent Life to replace these.

We all know to replace the HM SNES is HM 64.

So then to replace HM 2 GBC is HM 3 GBC, and to replace IL is ILSE which is the last spin off!!!! :D After that it will just be playing two games at a time!!!

The goals for these games will come up in Today's update so stay tuned.

That movie was way too much. >.> Half the time it was dragging on or showing way too much blood. >.<

So after that! Here is some stats: 5/30 games done I am 16.67% Complete!! :D In my time frame I'm supposed to be at: 4/30 or 13% complete. So I'm going great!!! However the games get more complicated from here so I hope I do well!
