I'm a girl, and in the more recent harvest moon games, I'm finding I prefer Rune Factory. Don't get me wrong, I still really like Harvest Moon, but I'm finding I like the characters personalities and looks in Rune Factory... Then again I am a nut for the fantasy genre XD. Although... I personally like taking care of my own crops rather than monsters in RF:ToD (and spirit magic looks kinda (steriotypical) gay... no offense to any gay people)

I'm a girl, but I really like RF... I like RF better than bazaar, SI, IoH, and ToTT so far...

I'm a guy and have been playing Harvest Moon for years. (Almost 10!)
I always play as a guy. It just seems more fun that way. Also, not to sound sexist or anything, but I find it really weird playing as a girl and asking a guy to marry you
I love RF as well. RF is great, but it will never top HM!

As is evident by my Signature and Avatar, I am currently more invested in RF than in HM, but I do love and play both. I'm planning on getting the 3DS ToTT this year anyhow~ However, it is an incorrect assumption that the majority of RF players are male. From experience, and from a recent poll in our own RF Forum, it's a nearly 3:1 ratio; (If I wrote that correctly) about three girl players for every male player or so.

I'm a female, however my husband loves the games as well. We share them most of the time, except we actually had enough when Grand Bazaar came out to get us both one.

I'm a girl and I love both HM and RF. Though I started with HM, so I have a bigger attachment to that franchise apposed to RF.

I made this same exact topic awhile ago in the Rune Factory forum and it proved more girls played Rune Factory then boys too lol.

I'm a girl and I have a special place in my heart for Harvest Moon. My brother has RF3, but I don't think he likes it as well as I thought he would. From what I have played, I like RF too.

I'm a girl and I will usually play as a girl given the chance, but I'll gladly play as a boy if I have no choice. Once I'm finished with the girl character I'll try my luck with the male counterpart. (It makes the game last longer)
I think the character designs in RF are prettier than in HM, but the problem with RF is that getting the right materials for creating certain weapons can be a drag. (Then again I only own RF2. I'm not sure if it's the same for 3 and 4) In general I'd have to say that the characters in RF tend to be more colorful and diverse. While in HM character personalities tend to be flat and unoriginal at times.

If I had to choose between HM or RF. I'd choose HM. Simply because there are so many characters and there's lots and lots to do. (And Idk just because.)

I'm a girl, and I've only played HM games as a girl. I like the graphics and character designs better in RF, but it doesn't really appeal to me that much. I'd be willing to give it a chance, though.
