How do you name your animals?

I always name my horse Kale.
I usually name my cows and sheep after flowers (Daisy, Tulip, Pansy, Lily, Rose etc).
Chickens usually have fruit names like Apple, Banana, Coconut etc.
Dogs and cats are usually given random names.

I usually name my pets after animals that I have now or have had, right now I have a dog named Buddy and two cats named Gracie and Lucky. My cows, sheep and chickens all have random names that just pop into my head when I buy them. My cows are Luna, Lily, Lucy, Alaska, Kate and Castle (last 2 are from my favorite show Castle ), my sheep are Shawn and Felix, and my chickens are Teddy, Henry, Draco, Bowie and Floyd. My horse is Adam and my owl is Hedwig

I name my animals random names, whatever comes to mind. I occasionally stick with a theme but not too often.

My livestock/chickens are named after female characters from Final Fantasy games, my horse is named Gale, my owl is Athena, and my dogs and cats are named Wakana, Keiko, Kaori, Yuriko, Yuuka, and Hikaru, after the singers of FictionJunction and Kalafina.

I give them all different names, depending on my mood. Sometimes I name them after someone I know o_o;. But most of the time its just random :D. But I always name atleast one chicken "Chi".
I love SHINee! (: my favorite song from them is one of their old songs: Replay, and one of their slightly newer ones: Hello. xD. They look soo cute in Hello <3.

I live in Konohana, so my animals are limited. It sucks we only have like 6 characters to make up a name...

My chickens are named after Yugioh Blackwings, my sheeps after Gashbell characters, my cows after Vandread characters and I really have no clue after what I am going to name my Alpacas, once I can buy those >.>

I usually pick a theme. In Grand Bazaar, all my animals had wind or weather related names. This time around, I chose video game characters.

Farm name: Skyrim
Owl: Ezio
Large dogs: Jun and Emile
Small dogs: Farkas and John (I'm still trying to decide)
Cats: Sheik and Zelda
Cows: Bonnie, Jenny, Lusia, Lydia
Sheep: Kat, Kelly, Linda,
Chickens: Maria, Ellen, and Rosie
Other names to use: Delphy (Delphine), Cathy (Catherine), Halsey, and I need to come up with some more.

The chickens I have right now aren't named after video game characters, but the rest will be. I had to name them after my chickens.

In my first file (Kono), I did the alphabetical thing which was fun.
In my Bluebell file, I named my MC Aleigh:

cows - Marlee and Darlee
chickens - Ovalee and Avalee
sheep - Haylee

dogs Zorlee and Raizee
I'm only in Fall year 1 so I have a way to go...

I always have themes, pretty randomly though.

This time through the game:
Cats - named after two of my real-life cats, Peanut and Sparky
Small Dogs - fire-theme. Smoke (black and white) and Flame (red-brown and white)
Large Dogs - monster-theme. Titan and Fomori

Owl - no theme since there's just one of him - I named him Kuari after an owl in a book.
Horse - again no theme since there's just one of him. I've got a black Dosanko and I named him Abyss.

Chickens - greek letter theme: Delta, Sigma, Beta, Pi, Alpha, Gamma, Omega, Theta, etc
Cows - flower theme: Daisy, Rose, Lilac, Aster, Pansy, Peony, Iris, Calla, Lily, Tulip, Crocus, etc
Sheep - tree theme: Aspen, Maple, Birch, etc
Alpacas - dance theme: Jig, Tango, Waltz, etc

Sometimes in other games I've use themes like herbs: Thyme, Sage, Mint, etc.

Ooooh. I like the ideas you have for your livestock themes, Blue. I've done flowers and herbs a lot, but I never thought about trees. And the Greek alphabet works really well with the six letter limit. Nice.
