I live in Konohana, so i stuck with the theme and gave them all japanese names.

I always give my animals boring and forgetable names, so I've been thinking of giving them the names of the characters of the game, like in ToTT I would name the animals Grady or Rose. For teh lulz.

"Ina laid an egg."
"Cheryl likes to ruffle her feathers."
"You got Cam pregnant."

One cow always ends up with the name Yuki
I also like the names Ruby and Lucy
And I got sheep named Burito and Molly

I hate naming things, so cows are Moo 1, 2, etc, sheep are Baa 1, 2, etc, chickens Cheep1, 2, etc. Dogs are BigPup and LilPup, cat is Kittie, owl is Owlie. I have ZERO imagination lol.

I name my animals random things most of the time. For my cows I tried to name them after dairy related things. I wished mine had a continuous theme though, maybe next time.
My cows names are leche (milk in spanish), dairy, luna (moon in spanish), choco (short for chocolate)
My chickens name are gallo (rooster in spanish), galla (hen in spanish)
My big dog is rufus
My white cat is noches (nights in spanish)

The names of my cows, sheep, and chickens are very random. My first cow's name is Bella, but the rest are named something along the lines of "lknsdf".
Although I like how I named my cats and dogs. I named them after teas. Mostly Korean, because I'm Korean myself. For instance, I have a Nokcha, Bori, and Matcha. And my farm's name is Hyunmi Farm! I love tea. <3 ^_^

i usually just name my farm/animals after zelda or pokemon but bluebell looked so pretty that i decided to name my farm/animals something that describes them in french
Cow:Beau, Lente
Sheep: Flou
Chickens: Bon, Petite
Dog: Alerte
Cat: Mignon
Horse: Vite

and then in my second file i just named them after people from bands that i like sorry if that seems too fangirl-ish
Cow:Gerard
Sheep: Ray
Chickens: Hayley, Billie,
Dog: Frank
Cat: Mikey, Matt
Horse: Jack

and the farms are Fleur and LaDaDa respectfully

I ask my sisters to name them for me. Im so bad at naming things. xD

I'm so doing that on my next play through.

Kind of like someone above, I go by themes.

Chickens are small and vulnerable, so I name them after plants with thorns:
Briar
Rose
Thistle... (this got a lot harder after they gave so few characters)

Sheep get named after flowers, and cows get named after spices.

In previous versions of harvest moon that were more generous with character spaces, I've traced the lineages of the animals by naming offspring using something in the same category and starting with the same letter.

So like, the cow Cardamon had Clove who had Coriander, etc.

Pets get named after favorite Japanese idols, usually Ikuta Toma ::sweatdrop::

This game I gave up on that system, and now I can't remember anything's name.
I'll wait for the animals to die and start over, but it's so hard when you have only 6 letters!

I just pick an theme and go with it

Like the one time i did a Harry Potter theme

My alpacas are named Harry, Ron, Riddle, Granger

I usually pick a theme from an anime/book/tv show/movie/etc I'm enjoying atm. I had an Ouran Host Club farm for SI, Kingdom Hearts for DS, etc.

ToTT is my REBORN! farm >D

Horse: Dino
Cat: Hayato (others will be Goku, Dera, etc lol)
Dog: ...I don't remember. Takashi maybe?
Cow: Lambo
Chicken: Hibari (LOL) and Hibird

Owl will be Mukuro >D I want to name my pineapples that hurr. Dunno what I'm gonna name everything else yet.

I always name a cow Tomato after one of the cows in the field. That's one of my fave cows. My other fave cow is Red Cow and that doesn't have enough spaces, I don't think

I always name a chicken K. Dee. Dunno why.

And sheep are named Cotton and Cloud and Fluffs. I am so non-creative about sheep, LOL.
