How do you name your animals?

Inspired by (I think it was in this thread, even) somebody naming their owl Jareth, when I started a new file I went with a Labyrinth theme...

MC - Sarah
Farm - Dream (well...Labyrinth or Crystal wouldn't fit and I didn't want to go with Goblin at the time, though maybe I should've...)
Horse - pony was Ambros (for Ambrosius), Thoroughbred is Hoggle, Dosanko/Shetland will be Ludo...

And then the livestock and pets were random "goblin" names from various fanfics or that I made up myself:
Chicken - Skeep
Cow - Jynx
Sheep - Kirble
Sm. Dog - Grex
Lg. Dog - ...darn, don't remember...Mirt, maybe?
Cat - Fijit

I will also steal your idea and start naming my animals after SMT stuff XD I now plan to befriend the Pyrenese in AP and name it Kanji :D :D :D

I usually name my dog, cat, and horse random things. I once named my dog Mr. Sexy. o -o

As for the livestock, chickens usually get the fancier names, with the occasional reference to other games... *cough*, like Isabella, Penelo, Francesca, Ashelia, etc. XD Now that the names have been shortened, it's become more difficult! D;

My sheep are always named Flaafy, Mareep, and Ampharos. xD Any more sheep than that, and I'll have to come up with new names.

As for the cows, I try to give them southern-ish names, like Louisa, Dorothy, Marylou, or just the typical 'Bessy'. XD Usually the first cow is always named Bessy. XD

Lol my horse is Epona too (wonder why) and my dogs are Spike (my real dog's name) and Rex (a stuffed animal I got a long time ago) my cat is bella IDK why.

I always end up overthinking my animal's names. I like giving them names of characters from series I like and just names I like in general.

Naming stuff is always the hardest thing to do The most time I've spent is an hour trying to figure out why my farm's name would be...it was either Kyubey Farm or insertanime-relatednamehere Farm;

I always end up overthinking my animal's names. I like giving them names of characters from series I like and just names I like in general.

mine are all male names. Ex. Steve, John, Dennis, Zach. I love it. "John gave you milk today." "Steve layed an egg." It makes me laugh when I talk to them!

I bought a pre owned game and the guy who had it before me named every thing with the letter they began with and the number.. all chickens were C1 C2 C3 C4 and sheeps were S1 S2 S3 etc Dx Ahggg it was horrifying

I usually name all my games the same.
the MC; Will or Keira, and the farm Rift Farm

I always named my chickens chilli, chiki, chilo, cows between moo,moomoo,fatty,cowiie or such, sheeps named baabaa or wolly, horse poony, dog boogey and cat random (coz cats presence is rare)

but then i get bored and naming them based on their species and colors :

I always name my animals after the meat they would produce or food their meat would make. so cruel
But my chickens are always named things like leg and wing so it's like chicken wing and chicken leg.

I do love my food.

I always have a chicken named Leg though, I love chicken legs <3
