you build a fence with branches,stones or wood. first get your axe and then take down some stumps so you would have the right amount of wood. after that go to the left of your barn? and press a on the wood bin. you will get some wood. then put the wood on the field and make a fence. the wood will rot after a rain? and so you cant pick it up and you must use your hammer to destroy it. you can also do the trick with stones or branches - they wont rot and the wild dog wont make your animals cry.

When you build fence, it is better to use golden lumber b'coz golden lumber won't rot ever although it is raining.

Your fence question was answered in the sticky topic, btw. Hopefully you have read it.

You get the golden lumber if you complete Thomas' Winter Request, or if you have 999 regular pieces of lumber, it goes on sale from Gotz.

They think you're showing off your wealth. That Golden Lumber isn't cheap, it's 100,000G

Because it's not better to use golden lumber since it angers the villagers so much - rocks work just as well and don't upset anyone.

Plus, it would take many years to collect enough golden lumber from the mayor to make a practical fence, unless you buy some from Gotz for an insanely high price, which is just impractical when rocks are free and just as effective.
