I hope it's ok, I went ahead and sent friend requests to many of you who more recently put your code up in this thread: Danny lover, Simply Unknown, Raven Mist, Shan0123, Kikki, bluie, Harvestmoonkawaii, ryume, pachi, and samansu. My Switch friend code is listed in my signature if I missed you or you would like to add me. My Switch screen name is Polliwog. Most of my online play is Pokemon and now Animal Crossing New Horizons.

You haven't been I was asking how you prefer to be added. If someone just up and adds you and you see a friend request from someone you don't recognize, would you deny or ignore the request? (I do. I have to know the person who wants to be friends, or I won't accept a friend request.)

That's what I was asking. If you want to be notified before someone friends you so that you're aware of who is sending a request, or if you don't really care who friends you so they don't need to bother.

Im surprised people didnt just see my code and add me. Why didnt they add me? How did you know they didn't add me?

I didn't know others hadn't, just that *I* had not. Plus just adding people isn't what most of us do on Fogu. Most people would say first if they were going to friend someone, but generally people will mostly add those they are friendly with rather than people they don't know. People even have it in their sigs, sometimes, that they prefer to be told first that they are going to be added on Switch, cuz otherwise they deny the friend request.

What do you hope to do with your friends? Do you just want to HAVE some? Or are there multiplayer games you want to take part in with them? If so, you'd want friends who at least have the same games.

Most of the 'friending' here in the last few years was done in the ACNH thread when we all wanted to be able to trade in Animal Crossing.

I don't know what the switch is capable of but I wanted to be added by some people who want to play games together and i did want to chat but i guess you can only chat with best friend person you labeled? That's what someone. I'd like to befriend people that play - I only know 2 people that play the Switch and they're both family members. I don't know much about Switch but if you add me I'll try to figure out how to invite you to a game we have in common. I couldn't add friends in-game for the first 3-5 days of Pokemon Unite. Finally, I added someone and they appeared and on the day "add friend" seemed to function nearly every person I added accepted and finally, "view trainer info" also functions now. My user on there is HairRibbon if anyone wants to add me

You can't chat on the Switch even with your best friends...the Switch has no chat function at all. In ACNH you can laboriously chat out a few phrases via in-game keyboard, but it's exhausting, lol, picking out one letter at a time via controller.

I think you can chat in some way if you download some kind of Nintendo app? At least with ACNH. But I've never used it.

Anyway, I will send you a friend request with Cricket. At least you can see how it appears on your Switch, that way.

Thanks for adding me. That would be cool to be able to chat - I'll have to ask the person that told me you can chat on acnh and see if they know or heard of of there's a Nintendo chat app - they'd maybe know.

Maybe Ill buy acnh soon - I've not played it but I've played most of the other ones and I've watched my sister play acnh

Do you like to play acnh online with people? Can people come visit your town on there while you are online in your town?

No, beyond the early days, I never play ACNH online at all. There's not much point in doing so, once you have an established town. To me, the online feature is just for trading. For getting all the types of fruit or for turnips, crops, etc.

We did have a sort of costume party though, a group of...was it 8 of us? Or just 4? I can't remember. We each hosted a costume party and took screenshots while we were on each others' islands. I don't think I have those screenshots any more, though. Fortunately I uploaded a few to Imgur.

I'm the creepy jester and Bluie is the little purple kid in the paper crown siting beside me, but I don't remember for sure who the others are. One is Shan, I believe, and the other...Arcy was at these gatherings but I don't think any of those are hers. Maybe it was Kross? I think the black dress green skin one was Shan and the other may have been Kross.

Note to all: it's usually necessary to tell someone first if you're going to friend them. Your request is fairly likely to be declined if someone sees a friend request they don't recognize. Only people who post their friend code in a sig or somewhere else with no instructions are likely to accept an unknown request, and that's something I would never do, because I only want to be 'friends' with people I've actually spoken to at the very least.

I dunno, can these things happen via bot? Seems unlikely, since there's no benefit to racking up Switch friends. I don't know who that is, anyway.

Almost all my friends are from Fogu, except family and one old Miiverse friend, and honestly I don't remember who some of my existing friend list are!
