That's very kind coming from a friend. However, winning wasn't that important to me. Plus my drawing was no where near as good as everyone else here. I just was ranting on what is the definition of "physical drawing." :/

I agree with you though, Tgainsbrough, it's best to own up to your mistakes. In my book, those are all digital; a physical drawing must be 100% physical. There's no use in fretting though, since it won't make a difference (for me that is).

@Saucy- Don't we all (and I agree with you very much, Tgainsbrough's pic was amazing)? Did you happen to enter, too? *sorry, I forget*

EDIT: Oh and yeah @CyanideConfections, I definitely hope that there is a lot more diversity in the 1st runners up. Natsume said there would be. Including a mix of all three categories. ;.; Which confused me, so now there are three? But I really hope to see a lot of Ushi art there.

Now back to your new post, I know it won't change it but maybe it will allow future contests for them to recognize the differences.

I was going to enter, but I ended up being lazy and not XD I even had it all outlined and everything.

People on Facebook were all like "Thats the sad truth" and I commented on it and said "I KNEW WHO DREW THAT"
But anyways,
I'm kind of disappointed that theirs nothing I can tell that is completely physical. They couldn't pick one that you could tell was physical but was good?

Yep yep it is kind of obvious. So didn't you say it should be split between digital and physical? Thats fair in my opinion, because if you mix them of course digital could win. You can edit it, fix it all you want, and no annoying eraser marks.

The digital vs. traditional argument is as old as the internet. Really you guys are just getting yourselves worked up over it. =( I hate to see people get upset. Especially over this particular topic.

I don't think Natsume intentionally chose works that were digital over traditional. I DO think they chose pieces with bright colors and lots of characters. All the winning pieces so far have a similar ambiance. It's clear that they were not judging based on skill alone and took many things into consideration. I also think we will see more traditional entries in the other winners so just hang tight.

And I agree with you priestessofpie, I believe that the 1st prize winner batch will have more traditional drawings in it.

And what they mean by 3 categories is traditional, digital, and physical/digital (like hand drawn then colored digitally).

On the new contest, I'm not entering that one. Not my kind of thing.

The 1st prize winners have yet to be announced along with the runner ups. They said next week they are reveling the 1st prize next week.

I don't think it was digital vs. physical it's that they called two of the drawings physical when they weren't. We would have liked them to actually show physical. I always enjoy physical more than digital, but that's just me. So I wasn't arguing which is better. But I totally understand about you not liking people being upset, so I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable/sad. I'll try to keep it a happy tone from now on.

I'm debating on whether or not to enter, mostly because I definitely don't need the prize I have one.

I was like "WHERE IS ENTRY 72?!" when I saw the winners why didn't he or she won? I wonder what they were judging on.... I think they judged how many characters were there... Wait... Why do we have to wait until next week for the other results?! we have waited for over a month now and they said results were coming today! c'mon natsume just post them!! lol sorry I'll stop now (BUT THEY SHOULD GIVE ALPACAS AND PIGGIES!!!! AND THE ONE-OF-A-KIND ILLUSTRATION I MISS THE OLD REWARDS!!!!) congrats again! :3 and sorry for ranting ^^u lol...

Well at least they still have the rucksack, that's what I entered for. I must say though, I wanted the alpaca too, GameStop ripped off so many people...

I know I felt so sad. Luckily I wasn't ripped off. I actually got 3 alpaca plushies. (but I preordered 2 games, the last one was damaged. ;.; poor thing) I joined for the backpack as well. So I'm glad they didn't removed that and now have 35 winners of backpacks. Which is nice.
