And then after Natsume comforted another non-winner saying they were in the top five. I posted that i was sad and they said nothing to me. Especially since I worked 3 whole days on it. Wed-Sat. ;.; Wow did that not help my self-esteem Natsume nor ever make me want to enter a contest again.
Don't give up Tgainsbrough. Alot of times we lose, and feel like we did nothing. I used to do things all the time, and did not win. But remember this, everytime you do it, you can say you did do it. I promise you, one day it will come back and you may do better.

Thought I'd put this in a spoiler cause it's kinda a rant/explanation and doesn't really need to be read.
Spoiler:
That's very sweet but I'm 22 and have never one a single thing in my life. I've entered a ton of contests and to this day have never one a single thing. What really proved I would never win was the last contest. Not only in the art contest I gave it my all but I suck at art so it's understandable. But spending the 3 whole days of time given by Natsume for this contest, continuously researching and writing and working my butt off on some thing that took others mere minutes and absolutely be cast aside. Yeah, this is my life sadly. I work 3 times harder than everyone else and still fail. (Literally, I have mental and physical problems that make my life tougher.) So that is the short version of why I give up.
Plus, I have absolutely no self-esteem. So, that doesn't help. And how that happened was an even longer story.
I understand fully.
And yes, I understand. I'm younger and have won a few contests. But I would keep on going and not give up. We all have views on things, and well so does Natsume.
Keep your head up and go for it again. I loved your drawing personally.

Thanks for the encouragement. But its the fact that every time I lose it keeps proving my point that I never win.
Yeah, but you've one at least once. I've won zero and each time I thought I had a great chance of winning. I worked so hard on it it was my pride and joy. And they haven't even posted it yet. Nor any of my families. I'm starting to think they disqualification us all. I'm not sure why because that's not fair to them! :'(
And the pictures there posted so early today was for the other countries so I am assuming that all the pictures are from other countries as well.
Don't worry! They still have a lot of pictures to post! They will come up! And I see no reason to disqualify you, I thought your picture looks great! I can tell it took you a long time. If you keep working hard you will win someday! Just keep trying!
Tgainsbrough wrote:I decided to double post for an important announcement! (So you'd know there is something new and check where as if I edited it you wouldn't think there was something knew.)
THERE WILL BE NO RUNNERS-UP!!!
Natsume just announced that all other entrants were getting a surprise in their mailbox and they are shipping it all out next week. Not sure what it is but this was the announcement.
As for the other contest not sure when the results will be posted. I will promptly update the first post and still continuously update all entries they post to their facebook page.
waiiiitt... so everyone really gets a prize?
XD okay ~ I really hope to get an Alapca :3
Oh my gosh, eeeeveryone gets a prize?
That's great~
We all get something for putting our efforts in this contest.

Tgainsbrough, just because you didn't win a contest doesn't mean that you're not a great and wonderful person with many great qualities and talents. Believe me, your hard work will definetly be noticed in the future and it will pay off. Continue to work hard and you'll achieve great things. And losing a contest isn't a failure. It's just a push in the direction of moving forward and a lesson on what you can improve on. I may sound like a mom (and I'm younger. ) but I think its great you even decided to enter the contest in the first place. Entering any contest takes courage and I respect you tons for it.
Thank you guys for your encouragement. I didn't mean to drag everyone into that conversation. It's not that fact about winning a contest. Ever since I realized I never won contests, I never entered them again. This was the first contest in a long time (besides ones that you just put your name on like win a free tv) and I really gave it my all because I thought I had a chance to win. To be honest I actually don't have any real talents. I don't stand out at anything and that happens to be one of the problems. But really I didn't want to drag anyone into this conversation about my life, it was just to answer a question.
I just got here and became interested in the recent posts. Tgainsbrough, if your entry (that one you just posted) were to be disqualified, my best guess is because the animals aren't spotlighted. They may be in the picture as per rules, but they are merely a part of the background. :0
I can tell that you put in a lot of work into the picture though. As someone who isn't really all that great in art, at least you tried working on getting down the poses, the layout, perspective, details, and using colors in a way that isn't too contrasting/bright for the viewers' eyes.
That's beautiful, Tgainsbrough! I think that's better than i could draw! But i also won't give up. It's one of my passions. Many WONDERFUL artists won't give themself the credit that they did a great job. I think you are one of those wonderful artists, And i am sure you are great at other things also. You also shoulden't let other people determine what you feel about your self and about how you feel about your drawing or your passions.
